About six months ago I bought my first DSM, a 91 TSI (fwd). The body was beat and after someone broke into it and ripped up the interior I decided to start looking for an awd shell. Finally found one and the motor is being swapped into the new shell. When we pulled the FWD transmission the...
I ran a search but found nothing, so hopefully someone will see this and have an answer!?I just got the car back from a motor swap (6 bolt from my old car into my "new" 92.) With the prothane motor mounts the car vibrates - go figure. BUT - the hatch rattles REALLY bad. We're talking LOUD...
Okay, so let's see if I'm on the right page with what I have and what I'm adding in the next few months. (Hence asking about head rebuilding in another thread, I'm looking at building a performance head with cams and installing in March or so.)Exhaust manifold - ported 2g
O2 - EVO III...
Does anyone have a list of stock parts that restrict CFM from most restrictive to greatest? In other words - - -
Factory exhaust (turbo back)
downpipe
o2 housing
intake
etc.I've tried looking and have found nothing. . . And since its not PSI but CFM that makes power it would seem...
I know I'm still considered a NEWB, but how do you guys expect him to tune with the SAFC if he doesn't have at bare minimum a logger?I say SAFC-I ($100)
Part together a logger (I did it for about $60 and can get you links, PM me)
MBC ($30 - 50)
Boost Gauge ($35 - 40)
14b ($100)...
Yes.Here's the situation. I had a 91 FWD with a beat body. Someone broke into it, stole my UEGO, SAFC, Gauges, etc. They also decided it would be fun to hack the ever-living poo out of my wires. As I looked at my options for repair it became clear that I would be MUCH better off...
That's my problem - the car is going to have to get into boost / WOT to get tuned, which means the clutch is going to get romped on to a certain extent. I'm looking for ways to minimize the damage.
Are there any potential problems in tuning the car to run at only 8 Psi? (I believe I read that stock is 12.)This is something of a repost, but I wanted more clarification. I don't want to glaze my new clutch after the install, but the car is also supposed to get a tune. I've got a logger...
LOL - I wouldn't mind DIY'ing it, but I couldn't find deccent instructions and can't read electrical diagrams for poo'. Waiting to hear back from the seller and paying on Friday. After I get my Palm M100 I'll post up the link where you can get it for $25! It will save you about $75 off...
