Just buy the 100.00 or less cat and weld it up i am in ca also I tried everything and that was my solution new cat = passed smog :)

I was having smog issues also and my solution was a new catalytic converter. You will pass with flying colors believe me Just buy an aftermarket cat and have it welded on shouldn't cost too much

Thank you jery1234My cat is an original cat I picked up from a friend. I have been told that it is a good cat. I am putting the stock cams and the stock injectors back in this weekend. Hopefully that helps the smog issue.

It's not really a grinding sound but u can hear its the bearings. Something just sounds different but bearing still spin the same just louder than before

If I do change oil to 20 50 do u think the whining will go away if there is no restriction and not a boost leak? I drove it like a block while whining
