Thank you. That was very helpful. Being that my car normally runs great (i just drove it all day with no problems and about 4 different starts), wouldnt I have to get the car into another no start situation to test the CAS? Being that it obviously is going to test WORKING if the car is running...
Vehicle: 90 Laser 2.0 NT, Manual trans.Problem: The car does NOT start sometimes and will rarely but possibly start and then run for about 10 seconds perfectly fine, then die and will not fire back up. Most of the time the car starts fine and drives great with good power and good engine...
One thing that bothers me, is when people use the sticker on the door to find out how much their car weighs. It does NOT tell you that.
1G AWD weigh around 3100-3200.
1G FWD weigh around 2800-2900.
keep boost under 14 psi until you do fuel upgrades. thats only if you have an accurate boost gauge. read over the dsm upgrade paths on the homepage and good luck.
Im sorry guys, i know this is probably going to be an easy one. But i would really like some info on it. I got it in a bundle of DSM parts i purchased a couple months ago. Never did figure out what is was on my own. Looks like a tranny gear set or like an LSD but i just dont know. Thanks.I...
to Most of You: Haha sorry guys. Yes, i did NOT mean to type multimeter. I guess i meant micrometer, all i meant was that i know that there is a small tool used to measure that stuff. haha.to velocitysport31: the compression was sub 50 psi. I think i got to about 30, but that was done at...
Thanks guys. I was almost in tears reading this, haha. How stupid can you be?! If i borrow a friends multimeter, would i be able to check the bore size of the cylinders? I mean, the cylinders still have a fresh cross-hatching in them. Id say theres under 100 miles on this F'ed up rebuild. Oh...
hold up a second here. did you put a cap of oil in the cylinders and re-do your compression check to make its not piston rings? because you should have, if not, did you do a leak down test to make sure its the HG. theres alot of variables, i sent you a PM to further assist you, read it if you...
Yes. Just get a good gasket for the pump and it'll be fine.
The NPR are Nippon's i believe. They supply many OEM products for the 4g63 and as long as your build is pretty stock then you'll be fine. But i'd recommend better if your making big power.
As some of you know, i bought a 90 gst recently that had no compression. I just got the head off today and boy oh boy, i think i put my finger on the compression leak. Each of the pistons, have a slight wiggle side to side, and to all sides, not just one way or the other. As you push...
You better hope that buzzing sound isnt your crank pulley just spinning in place on the timing belt. My car did this and i had to do a full re-build. Hopefully yours isnt this bad.
