Best DSM Craigslist post of the day

Problem is all these "Free" services cost money to run. Maintenance, server space, etc. So unless you find a way to monetize it outside of direct fees from the membership then your doomed to fail. Look at this forum for example. Very few paying members so I'm sure the ads pay for it. Craigslist...

Best DSM Craigslist post of the day

Ya pretty crazy how in the 8 years since this thread was started Craigslist is completely dead and now it's all on Facebook Marketplace. Not sure how exactly that happened but it feels like it was overnight. Like it started going that way then within a year or two everything was over there...

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

Well since many of the key OEM parts are now gone I think the traditional rebuild options are going to become less and less possible as time goes on. At least that's the impression I've gotten from what Tim Z has been posting. That is the driving force behind the change of bearings and synchros...
  5. ***** NEW PRODUCT ***** 2G DSM Drip rail replacement molding DIY kit* (Active)

Question by '95REGF150' on classified ad '***** NEW PRODUCT ***** 2G DSM Drip rail replacement molding DIY kit* (Active)'

Awesome Bobby! Looks like the extrusion will be made to slip over the factory metal. So you will wire wheel off all the original molded rubber and then slide these on? I'm definitely in on this been needed for a long time.

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

This is what Neat posted in the FAQ on this subject on the FB group.765 Nm is 564 Ft-Lbs so pretty much perfect for us street guys. Goes without saying though that until these sets are tested there is no way to verify this. Some of us that bought are just going to have to run them hard and...

Group buy: Stronger 5 speed gears!

There has been no discussion as yet for a 5th gear for this set. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but 5th gear being on the other side of the bearing plate makes it a bit separate from the 1-4 gears. Meaning you can do it separately quite easily. PPG offers theirs as a separate piece at a...

Group buy: Stronger 5 speed gears!

They sent all of use who purchased a gearset an email laying out their plans for allowing a deposit program at a slightly higher price. Said if we did not have any objections they would post it up in the next few days.

Group buy: Stronger 5 speed gears!

Interesting. Nitrided 4140 is a great option too. We use that on some of our larger internal gears that would be to expensive to be made on 8620. Been through some testing with it depending on the nitriding depth it can hold up super well.I know they were going back and forth with Tim Z some...

Group buy: Stronger 5 speed gears!

Kurt from an engineering perspective your such a wealth of knowledge on this stuff. How come you didn't do the group buy and make up a gearset for us? ;)Do you know what the factory gears are made out of? Something similar to 8620 standard? I personally am not concerned about the 9310 or...

General Any interest in a speeduino plug in ECU?

If I added a TPIC8101 knock chip on the board you can have the option for knock control, but to me the hardware side is the easy part.Megasquirt's code implementation for knock is similar to what I have seen on other aftermarket ECU's. Per cylinder detection, global retard. I will say I like...

Group buy: Stronger 5 speed gears!

I had the same reservations Kurt without any testing. But it was hard to walk away from this for the price and opportunity for something new for the platform. I ended up going for the 3-4 kit for now as a compromise. Want to support them and think this can be great but I am also worried about...

ECUflash Carrying on the Ceddy Legacy - Electronic Boost Control for Under $50

My XML is a copy-paste of Ceddy's which I just added a couple tables too. The ROM ID is the same for anyone using a Ceddy ROM as it is always the 2055 ROM from his original GST he started with.ECUFlash comes with a 2055 definition by default. So if you followed exactly what I did above and...

ECUflash Carrying on the Ceddy Legacy - Electronic Boost Control for Under $50

I may be one of the last guys that knew the in's and out's. But I was just looking at the disassembled existing code never on the level of Tephra or Ceddy by making changes or writing new code. It's extremely difficult and much harder than regular coding because your trying to make changes to a...

General Any interest in a speeduino plug in ECU?

With the factory VSS input and your transmission ratios put in I have boost by gear setup on mine its pretty straight forward.Ignition retard and cut limiters - im assuming you are reffering to anti-lag? Or are you talking about on Knock control retard on Knock?MS3 does all forms of cut...
