Before you start to modify your motor, make sure it is in the proper working state to handle the modifications (all maintenance done, good compression) I would say the very first mod you should do is get a boost gauge/ vacuum gauge.

I wonder what the count is before it will kick on the CEL, anybody know? its only on during boost and goes away the second i push in the clutch to shift. could it be the illusive "phantom knock?" Since i only run premium fuel? What causes knock?
