if I were in your position I would drop the pan on the trans and check a. the condition of the trans fluid and b. the magnets on the pan for an assload of metal shavings.
have you had the tranny out for any reason? Your more than likely stuck in 3rd gear. Like the other guys said, a bad tcu can cause that. If you have had your trans out for any reason there are 2 shift solenoid plug ins that are easy to get confused. They are completely interchangeable. When I...
Have you pulled the valve cover to check the valve train? Something as simple as a broken valve spring could be the issue here. When I was in auto tech last year during high school we had 2 trucks come into the shop with no compression. 1 was a late model f-150 and 1 was a late model chevy...
I have never bought a bad thermostat, but have heard some other people on the forums say they received more than one bad thermostat. Your a/c fan does not cool nearly as well as the engine fan. Check out your fuses/relays etc. I bet once you get your fan operating again, the problem will be solved.
considering its a clutch job and you didn't remove anything that wouldn't be necessary, my moneys on either a engine to trans bolt or the starter bolt. I think the slave bolts are shorter and are 10 mm heads.
Coolant Mixture? I assumed you probably replaced the majority of the coolant when you replaced the radiator. Are your fans coming on? If not that can cause you to overheat.
With the size of that bolt I would say its a starter bolt. There are 2 bolts on my 1.8 that hold my starter to the tranny housing...I assume your 2.0 is no different. I think thats too small to be a engine to trans bolt. Good Luck man!
As far as I know the tilt wheel function is part of the steering column, not the wheel itself. So when you switch to a dif. steering wheel, your tilt function should still work.
thanks for the sweet pic! lol I am pretty sure the trans is toasted. I am going to go to my bros tomorrow to check out the cables for the 3rd time....If I can't get this bi*** into any of the other gears with my bro in it holding down the clutch and me outside adjusting the shift levers, we'll...
yes! ON the same subject, does anyone know the shift orientation on the tranny...I guess what im really asking is does anyone know how the shift levers on the tranny coincide with which gear the car is in...The cable broke on my bro on his way home from work. Maybe he fried the tranny on his way...
Hey Guys,
My bro had a shift cables brake on his car. So I thought It would be as simple as unbolting the shift cables and swapping in new ones. Well it turns out this is a real pita. This car is my old car. It is a 94 talon with a 1.8 standard. When I owned it about 1 year ago I converted it...
your post isn't very clear but I assume that you mean that your car will crank (turn over) but will not run? And you have this issue when its cold? If that is the case I would definetly check the cool temp sensor. My bros car was having that same issue and I found out that because the ghetto air...
