It sounds like your having compressor surge. This is when your compressor wheel goes in a backspin, which is bad. You want to tighten the screw down to stiffin the spring. If that still dosnt work your bov mite be bad. Never go cheap on a bov. I sugest a 1g factory bov. They hold great up too 20...
I dont know how to tell the difference but the 5spd trannys on the NT have a higher final gear then the turbos, allowing for a faster bottom end, but less top end. So quicker 1/4 times.
