Give these guys a call. Last year they had pumps and parts right on the shelf. Relatively inexpensive, fast shipping and a pretty good order desk.https://www.wittrans.com/default.aspx?
Well that's a pretty good F-up. I got that from page 16 of Dr. Turbo's guide. I assumed that it applied to me without really understanding why. I'll bet that is the root of a lot of my problems and I never even considered it once it was set. Thank you very much for pointing out my mistake. I'll...
Made some small adjustments that helped the low speed/load drivability be better but my airflow per rev is still .55-.65 I tried adjusting the dead-time down but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect... Does anyone know what the actual dead-time for RC 1200's is? Also, I'm still going lean...
Thank you. I'll review what I've already done and retrace my steps. I'll get another log on Sunday when I get back to the house and make sure to log battery voltage. What, if anything are you thinking at this point adjustment-wise?
I drove the car this morning and it's running like absolute crap. I have the same settings as in the log above but the car runs even worse than before. Low load (no boost) acceleration is slow and pig rich (10.8-9.8:1), as soon as I hit boost it starts to lean out and just gets leaner as boost...
Here's the most recent log. Probably just need to keep tweaking it but I want to make sure I'm not having any glaring mistakes. The BOV just started the high pitch whistle today, not sure that it is related to the previous issues. Replacement is next on the list.
Thanks for the input... Sorry so long to follow up, I have no time right now. I made the suggested global change and adjusted my dead-time down to 450. It idles close to my setting of 850 now and the acceleration is smoother. I'm still getting hick-ups when the motor starts to see load...
First...
No leaks from intake or exhaust, BLT to 30psi shows no leaks, all gaskets are in place and bolts are tight. Mechanical and base timing are verified correct. Fuel pressure is verified correct (43 hose off, 37 hose on) Compression is 195 across the board. Wiring is good, no shorts, no...
48.9 lb/min at 23 psi. Things are really coming together. Of course, for every success there is another failure... BOV is leaking like focking mad and the valve cover decided to lift, throw the gasket and shit oil all over the place. I just ordered a stud kit for the VC and I'll build a vacuum...
Actually, airflow was still increasing... The mild port work I did on the head and intake manifold seem to have increased efficiency across the board. I'll see what I can do on the screenshot, I have problems uploading from my laptop. The damn thing works fine for 'Link but being that it's 13...
Just a quick update. I'm in the process of tuning the car after finally having got it on the road and everything (mostly) working right. Yesterday during a full throttle pull... I got 48.9 lb/min of airflow from the DSMGreen XL (76 hta) this was at 23psi, 18 degrees of timing, 12.5:1 AFR on E85...
Quick and dirty test is to throw a multimeter on the battery with the car running... Charge voltage should be in the 13.9-14.3 range much outside of that and I would suspect a bad alternator.
