400+ WHP w/ Timing Belt two teeth off

Video should work now, was set to private for some reason. It ended up being a pretty disappointing day the dyno because before they could get a good baseline it started slipping the clutch so, it'll be a few weeks before I can get a better clutch in it and back on the dyno. :(It does...

400+ WHP w/ Timing Belt two teeth off

No I don't believe so.-If I remember right, upon first getting the car on a dyno we determined it to be out of time, but upon adjusting the CAS and picking up 5 degrees advance it seemed to be putting down more appropriate dyno numbers. I could be wrong though, as this was well over a year ago.

400+ WHP w/ Timing Belt two teeth off

I've decided to share an interesting discovery about my car with the community. Feedback welcome.I dropped my car off at the local DSM/Evo shop yesterday for a timing belt replacement. The mechanic verified TDC, pulled the cover off, and noticed the belt was installed 2 teeth off. Belt still...

    New to the dsm world

Welcome to the dark side. A 16G turbo, 1000cc injectors, and a Wally 255 FP on stock cams will easily exceed 350whp on E85. I'd suggest checking out some of the tech articles already in the forum to learn how X set up will give you X amount of HP. This site has a lot of good information if...

How much did you pay for your DSM?

I got mine for free because I traded an Integra for it.

    What cars have you owned?

    Well, I'm 21 now and if I remember right I've had 11 cars.1. 1982 Toyota Pickup 22r 4spd (15 years old, first car. Got my license in it) 2. 1965 GMC Panel 4x4 1-ton w/ 305 V6 (5.0 V6) (16 years old) 3. 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 3.0 V6 (16 years old) 4. 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass 3.8 V6(16...

The best thing you love about your dsm!

I love the deep exhaust note 4G63s have. I love how rare a nice looking 1G is. I love the way you can roll it on in any gear and it moves out. I love the look on the face of SR20det owners when they look at my little 16G turbo and I tell em' it pushes 29lbs of boost. I love how my car has never...

    I'm an idiot

That's not that bad. With my old 96 Cobra I was at a gas station filling up and went into the store to buy something. When I came back out I jumped in my car and forgot the nozzle was still in the filler and drove off. It tore the whole hose right out of the pump in front of like 3 people... so...

    head gasket help

If you can go to a parts store, some rent out puller kits. Probably your best option.

    newb needing answers

Could even be the headbolts weren't tightened to spec. Or when he tightened the headbolts he didn't do so evenly, in the right order and the HG didn't seal properly because of it. If that head swap was done by an amateur I'd probably be pulling it apart.

I might narrow it down with a compression test. If you've got a pinhole leak in the HG on the combustion chamber side, it could potentially show up as a lack of compression. I'm not super familiar with 4G63 heads yet but it could be maintaining compression and leaking out of the outside of the...

at what point is awd needed?

Yep, I'd focus on looking for something well taken care of regardless if it was FWD or AWD. Something to think about, if you achieve 300whp in either, you're probably going to want more. That's generally the nature of the beast. AWD will give you a really good future platform though. The added...

Alternative Fuel E85 Ethanol Corn Gas E70 (Beginner) [MERGED]

I did some forum searching and didn't really come up with definite solutions to easier cold starting on ethanol. My car is on E85 but I have future plans to go over to E98, which is even harder to start. Car runs linkv3.Depending on the weather, my car takes 5-10 sometimes 15 tries before...

English Racing Tranny? or Rebuild mine

I know ER picks cars up from the Seattle area on a fairly regular basis and tows them down here. I'm lucky I live 5 miles away :D
