I went for a quick first drive on #speeddensity. The car drove surprisingly good. I did one third gear pull till I noticed the knock light wasn’t happy. My wideband factor was pretty close at 99 VE but I was getting a ton of knock with the...
Goodbye MAF. I installed my freshly welded intake elbow and air temp sensor. I used an intake pipe I found in the classified with an eBay cone filter. I also swapped out the factory BOV for a blitz unit. I had a similar one on my last dsm so I...
I started tearing the engine down to take the head to machine shop, do all timing related stuff, install 20g, 2g exhaust manifold (still have to port and polish it), install 1200cc injectors and hopefully get the DSMLink set up and tune the car.
I bought a 20g turbo, valve cover, forge bov, dsm link v3, 2g maf. Still have not decided if I am going to run maf or speed density but the maf was super cheap so I went ahead and bought it.
So I'm taking my best guess at this after searching for a good diagram but to no avail. But is this correct stud and large bolt placement for the 1g intake manifold?
Drove my hooptie for the first time in 8 months yesterday. Fresh HG, mild porting, rings, rod bearings, comp cams, v3, 16g/7cm, new radiator. Hoping to drive her more than work on her for a while.
First drive was a success. I drove her for about 25 miles. Engine temps stayed good and no weird sounds or smells once the initial burn off concluded. Of course she had to troll me with one more leak. This time my adapter for the vdo oil pressure...
When trying to get my 1g started after my rebuild and I was getting a bad fuel leak no matter how hard I tightened the flare nut on the “various mfg” PF8164 (PF5114) filter I bought from RockAuto.com. I believe it was a Purolator. So I tried a...
Put a fresh water pump gasket on since I botched the gasket the first time around. I didn’t have the radiator in so I couldn’t leak test it the first try. Used some fresh bolts from Jmztuning. The belt took me too many tries to get tensioned...
I first met Joe in Tampa when I lived there almost 25 years ago. I remember racing against him at Bradenton in my previous DSM. His and Turbo Tom’s podcast and videos are the main reason I bought another DSM. I’ve been so gutted to hear this...
Thank you to @pieceofcloth for generously sending me a timing tensioner bolt since I couldn’t find mine. Got my belt on and tensioned after three tries. Hopefully I’ll be back together by the end of the month.
I was going to consider a 2g one. It looks like the the difference from 1g to 2g is that they went with a lock washer plus a flat washer vs the flange head and flat washer on the 1g. Their effective length may actually be the same but its been 20...
Josh over at JNZ Tuning @DSSA may be able to source one for you. He has hooked me up with pretty much everything I need for my rebuild (granted I have a 2G)
Our bolt size chart says 51 mmThis is only 1mm shorter. Probably not a 12mm head but itll work just fineM8-1.25 x 50mm Flanged Screws Flange Hex Bolts, 304 Stainless Steel 18-8, Plain Finish, DIN 6921, 5 PCS https://a.co/d/1q5aHILThe JIS...
Wrong bolt. The one you’re specifying is for mounting the hydraulic tensioner. The one inquired about is for the tensioner pulley, and barely cut off of your screen capture at the bottom.M10 x 1.25 x 33, flange bolt@dsmmario - worst case...
I snagged one from JnZ for my build as I didn't have any spare fasteners for the front. I need to get the front cover bolts too as no spares (if I find a good cover 🤞) for it either.
My bad. I read tensioner bolt and thought he meant that one.Heres is a Jis 35mm(5) M10-1.25x35 Hex Flange Bolts Class 10.9 JIS Small Head Frame Cap Screws Zinc https://a.co/d/6UeQCL2
I attempted to do my timing belt on my 1G but I seemed to have misplaced my tensioner bolt, or accidentally used it elsewhere. Does anyone have one for sale since they are discontined.

Does this angle more towards the driver side than passenger side?
