Up for sale is an 8-blade 56/83mm HX35 turbocharger supercore (CHRA & cover). This quick-spooling turbo has the capability of generating 55 lb/min of airflow on a proper setup and will fit into any of the popular turbine housing sizes made for the HX35.
I recently acquired this unit as part of a package deal including a turbine housing that was needed for another customer's turbo build. It appears that Turbo Engineering International has rebuilt it at some point, or perhaps it was a completely-new unit offered by them when it was purchased new. Initially I had planned to just scrap it but the CHRA itself was in great shape apart from some turbine sealing ring leakage due to an undersized drain and some oil contamination so it received a full rebuild and rebalance in-house including a good used replacement turbine to offer someone a low-cost alternative to their blown HX35. The v-band on the compressor outlet has already been ground down and is ready to accept a 2.5" coupler and clamp. I'm including a 4AN fitting for the oil feed line as well.
Proper oil supply and drainage is crucial for the HX center housing. This turbo must be supplied with no more than 72psi of oil pressure under load or you risk causing oil-related damage to the turbo for which I will not accept responsibility. The oil drain must be as straight as possible, have no kinks, and must not dip below the fitting on the oil pan at any point. DO NOT USE A 10AN DRAIN. Improper oil drain size will over-oil the cartridge and cause damage that is not covered by any type of warranty repair.
Being the core was basically free, you're essentially paying for the rebuild, the replacement turbine, and estimated shipping. The price is just $300 SHIPPED for this turbo to the lower 48 states only- I cannot ship to Canada or Internationally. Please note that you WILL need a turbine housing to use this turbo which is not included.
