How would one know if their blend door is in need of replacing?

When there’s no temperature change after turning knob from hot to cold. Car has to be running a while to operating temperature make sure coolant hot. Switch from ac to heat if no temperature change at vents then the door is probably broken. Or use endoscopic camera stick in the vent and actually inspect the door to see if working while turning knob.

That’s awesome. I’m curious what problem this door solves. Do they break at the hinges like they do on many other brands of vehicles or? I’d be interested. Only big challenge for me is figuring foam and glue that won’t fail shortly after doing all that work

Mine was broken where the cable/lever arm attached to it. I made myself one and its been in there for years albeit the car has sat for more than I've driven it. It's in resto mode right now. I think I just got some foam from a craft store. Not sure how I glued it TBH. I will be pulling the dash again soon because I made the foam too thick and when pushed one way the foam pushes the door back some so I'll be redoing plus making print filts for the other parts just in case anyone ends up needing them.
