1991 Eclipse GSX 5spd with 79xxx currently on the clock. Will continue to go up a few clicks as I still drive it frequently.
Backstory: Purchased on Ebay in 2019ish (not running) from Maryland and had it shipped to LA. The head was trashed but everything else was in good working order. I had the head rebuilt along with timing belt, seals, water pump and fluids, all done at K-Powered in Palm Springs. Now in Longmont/Denver area.
Other work (done by me):
-All brake calipers rebuilt to factory specs with new pads, rotors and SS brake lines
-Trans/Diff fluids
-BC Coilovers
The Bad/What needs work:
-It was an East Coast car for most of life so there is rust underneath - the only spot that I can find that will absolutely need to be addressed in the near future are the fuel lines underneath back by the tank. The mounting bolts/straps for the fuel tank will likely need to be addressed as well.
-The rear subframe area has surface rust - I've poked around quite a bit and don't see anything major - but it will need some some love and patience to bring it back.
-There is rust spot (8" x 3") underneath the hood but does not effect anything
-The antenna is broken
-The D/S molding fell off - I do have it though
-Some warping in the dash and underdash trim
-Small leaks in the exhaust - still sounds fine
-PS Sunvisor has tear
-Some clips missing in the back trim/hatch area
-AC blows hot - I've never needed it and haven't looked into it but all the system is 100% intact so its very possible just needs to be charged
-The wheels are hideous and I don't have the originals anymore - they were not worth refinishing and were way too heavy anyway
The Good:
-Legit low mileage mostly unmodified (sans suspension) in the more desirable color /chassis
-Adult owned for its life - previous owners were older and so am I
-Starts up great every time/no smoke/no leaks
-No overheating
-I'm a career mechanic so trust any work that was done by K-Powered or myself is professional
-The interior is in incredible shape for the age
-All original body/panels/no accidents or bodywork that I am aware of
-It's a lot fun to drive
The vehicle is currently titled in Montana under an LLC - all legit but want to mention
I'm basing my pricing off what I've seen in the market over the last few years on BAT & C&B and taking in to account the work needed. Open to offers. I've done my best to list as much information as possible to set expectations accordingly. Located in Longmont, CO just north of Denver. Come check it out! Ask questions!
If it doesn't sell whole - I'll probably part it out but would obviously prefer to do less work - please hold off inquiring about specific parts for now. If it goes that route I'll create a separate post. Also not forced to sell and happy to hang onto it. Also have plenty of pictures/videos and happy to take more.
