That’s what I’m saying! Us up north Ohioans got a dusting too, getting ready to go South as they forecasted now snow today but guess I’ll be checking on my truck in the snow as crackuweather says it’s snowing down there too.
Im Just ready for it to stay consistently warm LOL. I could get a lot more done if it wasn’t for weather

little weekend update:

78B83A0C-3DB8-4D21-9270-97AA586E442D.jpeg

Forgot to add the pin pad wiring into the mix so wired it into the in car harness.

7B5ADE4E-FD3B-4182-81E9-F4EED0403385.jpeg

This was the in car harness pretty well all laid out.

Everything is sorted and laying where it needs to go

1C53A02C-74B2-4E9F-A019-E7014F6E4FEF.jpeg

Added this 90* fitting for the fuel pressure sensor to help move it out of the way of the intake manifold.
AD84E04D-582A-49ED-B566-A9F720F3209A.jpeg

Ran the sensor wires through and got them plugged in where they needed to go.

While I was at it I took the output I planned for the fuel pump turn on and ran it to the back of the car to hook up to the relay
6277CF02-D603-472F-A2EE-C9584BD548E5.jpeg

I’ve got some planning to do with my 2 step and 2nd gear stage inputs as well as add the wires to run to the button for my nitrous activation that I forgot to add 🙃.

Once I decide that I’ll get back in there and get the wires ran for the vacuum pump and bcs wiring as well as decide how I’m going to run the wire for the wideband sensor.

Weekend wiring update:

5D13EDE6-720F-4BC2-8F2E-A864D2375003.jpeg

Started pinning the engine side plug so I can start organizing the wiring. Went well for the most part but had some issues with the smaller pins locking in place.

613A959F-FED8-4CDE-AD01-24679E862D36.jpeg

Got the smaller pin situation figured out. Turns out when I crimped the first one I didn’t have the height set right and kinked the connector not letting it go into place.

D99D50F5-D945-4BC8-BF45-83F29545EA1C.jpeg

Pretty much all pinned up. Got three of the four big pins done but ran out of the 14 gauge wire that I need for my trans fan wiring.

829F49D3-C8A2-470D-8C6D-6C709E29F7B0.jpeg

This was my stopping point for now. Got the wire I need ordered so I can start laying this out in the bay and wired up.

Also placed my deposit on my vamos design catch pan.

Saturday update:

Tools and supplies came in throughout the week to get to work on the engine side harness.
41F769FF-A5F5-4855-8724-DD3B4A85B4CF.jpeg

Connector tool in case I have to depin the connectors for any reason.
9A9DB26B-2135-4E64-8E6E-28BB5C1E3275.jpeg

More pins for my Deutsch connectors
56695F32-4514-4B82-9A5E-07AB9C4FEB53.jpeg

Last of the wire I’m gonna by to need to finish this up.

8EAC3199-3E33-40F0-8270-32FAE062C46A.jpeg

Figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and get the dsm 3d creations valve cover stud kit.

First thing I did today was put some flex braid over the fan wiring.
614F52B4-F729-4C60-BAD1-0407DFAD50A5.jpeg

With that knocked out I went ahead and teed off my switched 12v wires I’m going to run to the cam, crank and vss sensors. Also ran my trans fan wire since that was some of the wire I was waiting on. It’s a little long so I can trim back as needed.

AE3C38ED-AEB4-47EE-8D2E-E9B7CF215A37.jpeg

I then teed off the sensor ground and sensor 5v so that I can run to my oil combo sensor since it’s so close to the firewall connnector.

90BCD722-D529-44C9-B12C-32DB144CF5FA.jpeg

I need to plug the connector in and start laying the wiring out and figure how I’m going to run it all. I want to make sure you see the least amount possible. Also I’m still not sold on where I have the emap canister sitting so I may move it again.

Sunday update:

So started out deciding I was moving the emap canister again.
BFE57199-E191-4CDB-A82A-FC88CDA40EA3.jpeg

Got it moved and the line bent up to work.

Then decided I was going to put the harness I. The car and start laying wires down on the side that goes under the intake.

E763DD0F-144B-4A93-8A97-740204161373.jpeg

Trimmed it up and labeled wires.

AAF2C52B-FBD6-4380-B5EB-0853A7A45EE2.jpeg

Took the other side and later it all out and trimmed it down so I don’t have so much to deal with later
05D6B7B0-CB40-4422-B32C-F226B5B559EA.jpeg

Brought the harness inside and got to work looming and putting connectors on.

7D683211-ADCF-4E78-BD83-24BCEF3AE3D5.jpeg

Then while I was at it I took the excess wires for the coils and put a connector on one end so I can start my coil sub harness
886A8C55-F5CB-46C0-A057-537F45557DDF.jpeg

Next I’m going to get the intake back on the car and start laying the other side of the harness out.

Easter Sunday update:

3E591FEC-14BF-4A3C-90F6-5E6229211A2D.jpeg

For the vacuum pump and bcs wires ran out through the firewall and wired up. Got to depin the wideband connector so I can get it through to route it out.

4DAA8F1A-BDCA-4127-B34C-0A148BDD4A8D.jpeg

Also got the iat sensor plug wired up and loomed

I then turned my attention to getting the coil sub harness wired up

4C99C575-3318-4BED-9190-BFB84C45E7BA.jpeg

Got my power and ground leads split up

14927A35-74FE-4994-B51E-BF552D9BE034.jpeg

Started laying the wires out where they need to go

E3F7C041-00E2-4966-BA9C-7E3B2312DBDE.jpeg

Playing around with how the wires need ran for it to fit well under the plate. Also Thinking about getting some titanium bolts to bolt the cop
Plate down.

Got the new tps plug and some depinning tools ordered in so I can get this wiring finished up

Late night wiring update:

Couldn’t sleep last night so decided to work on my coil harness a little

9776D098-A448-41F0-B985-72FE57348A6F.jpeg

Things were going great until I got to the last plug wiring up and noticed the pin wouldn’t lock in. Upon closer inspection I find this…

05489681-2EE3-4A8E-9B30-D55C3894AC21.jpeg

So ordered another set and called it a night. Should have the last of my connectors in this weekend to finish up.

Weekend update:

So I my new tps plug came in on Saturday and I didn’t waste any time getting it out in the harness
BFE28559-9CB8-46C6-89B1-05EC6335F4B6.jpeg

At this point I felt it was only necessary to go out and install the harness into the car.
5C280E7A-09B3-491B-B4F0-504C39E17DBE.jpeg

From here it was time to put power to the relay board and test a few things… and that is where things went south LOL

So upon tie the key on immediately the starter engaged. Freaking out trying to figure out what was going on I then started to smell something burning. Turn the key off and realize that my nitrous solenoid is smoking and then hear a fuse pop.

Looking over some things I realize that I had an issue with the solid state relay/ wiring. Ordering what I need to fix that along with a nitrous solenoid.

I then turned my attention to the starter issue. Chasing wires back I realized that I mis labeled the starter and the trans fan wiring on the plug in at the relay board. Pulled the connector out and repinned it and fixed.

So decided I would go in and grab the fueltech to see if it powers on
E71BFE8A-8586-4B0B-A3A4-E3728D38CDA6.jpeg

We have power!!!!

I decided to call it a day and finish some stuff up on Sunday.

This morning I decided I needed to get my dsm 3d creations valve cover stud kit installed. I seriously reccomend this kit to everyone that stumbles soon my build here. Hands down the best thing I’ve done for the valve cover mounting.

C2AC2172-A9B8-405D-AA23-E994B56ABFD3.jpeg

I do reccomend that when you order them if you don’t have a 6mm thread chasing tap to order it with the kit. That thing came in super handy.

85FE6482-A503-4359-85FC-D1A95A4CBBD5.jpeg

With the studs all screwed in and hand tightened it was time to get the cover back on and finish it all up

CD1054DA-98BA-42C0-86F0-17CF02FAA3B1.jpeg

And I’m calling it a day here. Still plenty more to do but it’s time to make some dinner LOL. I’ve got the wiring about 95% done. Still need to wire the connector for my steering wheel buttons and get the harness for the o2 sensor depinned and ran out to the sensor. After that it’s a final check and should be able to get a base tune and try to start the car.

Not funny but have to laugh at smoking the NOS solenoid as I did the same dam thing. It must have been "on" for a minute or 2 when I smelled something also. I yanked wires by hand. I don't like fires....
I'm ready to see how your car is going to perform :thumb:

It’s funny to me now LOL at the time I was freaking out LOL. I have high hopes for how this ecu is going to change the whole car.

I have high hopes for you too!

Small update:

Decided instead of having to unplug two plugs for my steering wheel buttons I’d just do one plug.

758623EE-55B2-49F3-9C9B-62BE6D6ED781.jpeg

So I got some things ordered in to fix my nitrous relay screwup. New nos solid state relay is on the way. Buddy of mine had a brand new solenoid that hasn’t been used that he gave me to replace my smoked one

CC4A0460-B7BB-4740-8634-07501E14C816.jpeg

Going to get all of this wired back up in the car. Need to send the injectors out to get cleaned and I should be able to get fired up soon.

please post a link for the valve cover stud kit!!!! its badass!

They have a ton of 3d printed goodies for the chassis as well with more and more coming out.

Weekend update:

So got off work Friday and decide to swap my new solid state relay in.
F191A700-6CEB-44E9-8DC4-05A250925548.jpeg

Was going to try to get more done but the rain came in and ruined those plans.

So Saturday I decided I wanted to get the last bit of wiring done. Started with getting the connector for the steering wheel buttons put in
8D1B4650-C0DC-4BB7-BED7-70822E83D882.jpeg

Found the perfect spot under the column to mount it up.

30343B52-E360-47F5-B8E5-3482E3A5ED57.jpeg

Got it wired and checked to see how the cords hung.
1F4EFCA4-B565-42CA-BCD7-3CCF182D15C3.jpeg

With that done it was time for me to focus on getting the e and connector out to the o2 sensor.

568867AC-F898-4D75-A30B-625C543C89CF.jpeg

Used my new Amazon depinning tools and cot the plug off so I could fish this thing through the firewall.

CDDEA4C9-EEDD-4B97-8AC9-1067B9DD1EA3.jpeg

Now that’s done it was time to swap out the old smoked nitrous solenoid

4F7586ED-E939-40CB-A6F9-E8813D5562AA.jpeg

While I was at it I did move the fittings around so it would fit a little better.

At this point I decided to bolt the intake manifold on and get the intercooler pipe back in the bay as well

244D0CBC-C9F6-4642-AD47-8B45C9A36B40.jpeg

To see it here again I realized I was on the home stretch to getting it running again!!

Sunday morning rolls around and I’m pumped to get out and get a few things done to the car.

I started out with putting my new bushings in my shifter and cable

63F7AAF6-1DA7-44D5-B560-88AC9CAC9040.jpeg

These dsm 3d creations bushings went in with ease.

1A94393B-B06C-4EC3-8292-0A30B2DE6309.jpeg

Had a buddy of mine print me a new cable bushing as well. Between the two it feels like a brand new shifter assembly.

509D1209-77EE-44AC-A03C-F76C7F53C33F.jpeg

Got the center console put back in now that the shifter was done.

Lastly I got around to plumbing the boost control solenoid

4EF92E30-495F-4E18-B299-BBF9B8ABD575.jpeg

Took the injectors out to be cleaned.

At this point I believe all of the fueltech wiring is done!!! Gonna get injectors sent out to be cleaned. Also need to put my post pump filter back on but putting it back by the pump and then I need to run the hose for my coolant overflow. Once I get the injectors back going to test outputs setup the inputs and should be time to fire the car up. Waiting to make sure the wiring is good before I put the dash back in.

Small update:

So was figuring out where to send my injectors to get cleaned when I had a conversation with a buddy of mine and decided to look at injector cleaners. Welll one thing lead to another and…

776135B5-AF5F-47FB-8FCE-F27380EC97F5.jpeg

Going to clean my own from now on. After doing the math this Wil pay for itself in a couple seasons.

Just an idea, for the fuel pressure sensor, I think you should put it on the left side of the Fuelab regulator that you have the block off plug in currently and put a small visual gauge in the front so you have something to set your base fuel pressure off. You can use a 6AN, 8AN or 10AN ORB block off plug with a 1/8 NPT Sensor port. They are only about $5-10 That is how I had it setup on my old car and the new car I am building. Worked great.

I may move it down the road but I don’t need the gauge. Base pressure has already been set years ago before I swapped to the fueltech. If I ever change fuel pressure I’ll just read it off the ecu at this point.

Update time:

Ran my coolant overflow line back to the reservoir over the weekend
956470D3-F081-4366-B6F3-D376AB700669.jpeg

Also moved My post pump filter to the back of the car as well. I’m pretty much on the home stretch to get the car going again

87B97E2C-B1EE-4183-B6E5-3689654EDF43.jpeg

Ordered some titanium hardware for my cop plate. The cop
To calve
Cover bolts that came with it were too short for my linking anyways.

Got the coil mounting bolts put on. Now to put the assembly back on the car

32074339-7DF1-41F6-B635-CBCC9455A4F1.jpeg

Got my cleaning and testing liquids in for the injector cleaner. Time to start messing around with it and clean my injectors.

How are YOU keeping your cords from getting tangled on the steering column? You aren't running a column cover so it may not get in the way but with the column cover on, my steering wheel cord finds its way through the gap and then to the inside of the column if I don't keep my eye on it when I turn the wheel quite a ways. Just wondering :)

Well I’m hoping how I set the plug up will help keep from getting tangled when they wrap around when I turn. I’m almost thinking about putting a motion column in before too long and using their mono cord to simplify it all
