It came from Jack's as a double synchro 1st/2nd, HD 3rd/4th. It does have the 90 3rd and 4th and the 4 spider diff, so even though I didn't tear this down to the 1st/2nd set, everything I found was as I purchased it, way back when I didn't know shit. :)
She shifts very smooth now Paul, thanks to your help and @twicks69 help! :thumb::D:cool:

Damn it, Marty. Now I see another interior trim piece I am missing. :p Didn't even know there was a trim piece between the firewall and the center console kick panel. Thankfully, it looks easy to custom fabricate.

Happy for you man. I do love a good HX40.

The 61.7% ethanol in your log - is there still some gasoline in there from the goo recovery, or is that just what your winter E85 is right now?
Different car from the ethanol goo. This is just our winter and maybe summer blend. It was a dry tank to begin with and I have put 11 gallons of straight E from the pump in her. You will find some tuners claim not any knock difference after 50% or so. I would like to have higher E content, but what I can get is working. :thumb:

What are the specs on the HX40 you have on there? That's some good airflow.
I would have to ask Justin @JusMX141 but I don't think he did anything out of the ordinary on this turbo, it is just a 7 blade, 60mm HX40. I have a 6 blade on the shelf, but this turbo works so good, I don't want to swap it for anything! I have ran an 8 blade unit before I went to the 7 blade. It would come into boost about 500 rpm sooner but would poop out up top sooner also.

Per D-Series.org: (the following information is directly from their website about Holset turbos, interesting read BTW)
HX40:

The 8blade hx40 has a 58mm inducer and flows about the same as a 60-1 (around 60lb/min) with ALOT better high boost efficiency and spool speed. It is the most common hx40 out there. The small bep housing with the hx40 turbine wheel is plenty to reach the full potential of the 60lb/min 8blade hx40 compressor. 20+ psi by 4100rpms with 272s.

The 7 and 6 blade hx40 is called the super40 and has the 60mm compressor inducer. This compressor flows around 69lb/min. You can get this wheel in billet style (think HTA). The non-billet wheel spools as fast as the 8blade hx40 in the bolton bep housing and has done 653whp at 40psi per the holset results only thread. Billet should spool even faster. The t3 .70 a/r BEP housing slows spool about 400rpms. But reports show a significant gain in flow per psi. So expect more power at lower boost with that turbine housing.

I only have ONE STATION to get my ethanol at so I have to use them. I pass by that place twice a day for work luckily for me. It's a 20 mile drive if I take my car. I'd rather have E85 for sure.

Yeah English Racing told me they can usually tune all-in on 60%. So that I'm ok with, I was mostly just curious to know if you were finding variable amounts of E in your E85 there. Thanks for the info!
I would agree with that. Once you hit 60% or so, you're gonna max out the setup. I prefer to keep it at about e60 for that reason and to help keep the goo down.

Marty, are you still running the factory PCV valve? Thinking about deleting mine due to it putting oil in the intake. Before I put any driving miles on my new motor I re installed the PCV because the crankcase fumes were pretty bad and I was worried about the oil drain on the turbo, now that my rings are good and seated I wouldn’t think I’d have any issues:idontknow:

Put a check valve inline with your pcv.. it works magic

I AM still running factory stupid PCV setup and I don't have a check valve in the line yet but have a bag full of them. I'm still ironing out the whole thing Jeremy. I am running a check valve in the PB booster line. I WILL be putting the check valve back in th pcv system, I just didn't have one handy when I did the first fire up to be honest and had forgot about it. It helps blow by TREMENDOUSLY.
Are you seeing any oil burning or losing any still?

I’m definitely not burning any, and the level stays the same on my dipstick, maybe I’ll just throw in an additional check valve like previously mentioned:thumb: One interesting thing to note is my RealStreet catch can stays DRY, and my valve cover has no baffles, but I’m not complaining, I’m not losing any oil and the underside/oil pan on my car is the cleanest and most leak free the cars ever been:D

I went to metal after first bringing up the check valve subject because I had 2 plastic ones fail. Metal are bigger too and hard to get in tight places. The PB booster line is EASY:)

Ive never had issues with plastic after the pcv... it is basically like having 2 pvc valves... but in the future both will go to catch can

I bet I just got a few (all in the same order) that were splitting at the middle seam. I guess I was blowing them apart ROFL

I wish the '90 White GSX battery hadn't been low, I would have had all 3 in 1 video! Red, White and Blue :thumb:
Dammit!
I didn't know which cars profile to put this under so I went with the current projects thread.
So, without further ado, I present to you, "The Sisters"!!!
Lucy and Cherry. (Because...she's my cherry pie, a cool drink of water such a sweet surprise, RUNS so good make a grown man cry, sweet CHERRY pie)! ROFL
Enjoy! :)
Marty

IDK. I'm by myself more and more. Kiddo has his own projects (LS stuff).
Tuning pulls are in 3rd from 3500 to redline so one will happen. Will it get videotaped, IDK but I'll try :thumb:

I love it Sean and I WOULD!
I actually do have a head mount for our ATV Buggies when we have fun. I think it is the same thing that I strap the GoPro to and wrap it around my passenger side headrest for a good view before the horizon disappears.......;)
It's just a little too soon to be doing the stupid shit I already have been doing because I am so excited @DreamChaser7.
I need to settle down for some miles (to work and back a few days) and then give it what I want to and haven't pushed it. It feels fantastic. Needs that cruise tune to work and back adjusted better and I'm done....golden.

I was wondering how you were hitting it so hard already, and I'm still learning. I have no idea how to break in a motor or tune it yet, LOL. I just want to see her go fast again, love the old videos. ( I show them to my work buddies when I want to show what a dsm can do.) The Mexico bike pull is classic IMO. We will be patient, all good things to those who wait.
