2G Suspension preference question

Perhaps you can be more specific since it's not like there are many options here. Are you talking about FWD vs AWD or about what springs and dampeners to use on either of those two drivetrains?
 
This is an impossible question to answer without knowing the purpose of the car. Drag car? Street car? Autocross? Road course? Multipurpose? Any compromises? Budget? Current car condition?

The point is there is no "best".
There are some general rules for improvement over stock. If you want to look cool add springs. If you want to improve handling add better struts. If you add springs you have to choose ride height and understand that doing so changes things. Geometry changes as does travel so likely spring rate changes which will affect ride quality.

I have a street car so I was just looking for improvement over stock with higher cornering ability and less understeer. Given the age of the car I chose to replace all the cars bushings to energy suspension urethane plus koni yellow struts, eibach prokit springs and rm sway bars.

More grip needs more tire. I would recommend you don't choose cheap tires. There are some good inexpensive brands that do perform well. It has been my experience you get what you pay for. Tires have been the biggest improvement for dry grip and some choices wet grip too. Almost always higher grip tires also meant higher peice and faster wear. I've had some that were bald in 9k miles. That isn't a choice everybody can live with.

Stock and original is the best possible option. No other setup rides as smoothly. Get this, the entire suspension geometry was built around the stock ride height. Leaving it stock prevents premature wear on ball joints, cv axles, tie rod ends and much more!

My question isn't for any type of car build specifically, it's just to see what someone considers the best brand, build, etc. for their intended usage per their preference, anyone can answer with any car build in mind

The question is too vague. Best for what??

If you're asking trusted brands koni and eibach have been trusted for years. I do believe eibach caters more to the "looks" category rather than performance as I feel they're a bit soft.

What you're asking is difficult to answer without some objective comment of what you want the car to do. There is no "best"

No one can really answer your Q as you dont give any base to go off. People can use costly self adjusting or basics.

For basic, low cost road going then simple shock and springs are good. I used this on my old Nissan and acted like oem going straight and then corners it helped loads.
After that is basic coilovers and some can ride harsh and some not but dont always have the same effect or last as long

I posted the question after me and buddy were talking about what would be considered the best suspension brand or setup for these cars, and I couldn't answer him because I don't know nor do I have a preferred brand so I figured I'd post here and see what peoples preferences or opinions on that subject are since it had me curious after our discussion about it.

The question re wrote is still vague LOL. You ask for street, race, and drag haha. The best on all of that is not a 1 fits all. So because of this I'm going to base it from a street coilover for you. However if you get coilovers too stiff they are not very streetable and will be rather harsh for even the most normal driving.

So opt for something like flatout, BC's. They have a a good base and if you opt for a soft spring but wont be as great on track even if you up the dampening that's not how you setup stiffness and you need springs to do that properly.

Feals are also decent but cost more when you want custom springs now and you no longer get swift springs so cost more again, so they basically priced themselfs out of a good coilover with options now vs when they first started so that's whey i don't mention them much anymore.

I use BC myself. Semi cost effective but are more aimed at racing. Even on my daily its valving is quite harsh but i accept this as i want a nicer handling road car but put up with the harsh bumps. Spring rates wont work for drag so that's why 3 options are very different and 1 wont really fit for all applications
