I recently bought a 96 tsi eagle talon with a few mods done to it evo3 turbo, injen intake, evo 8(650) fuel injectors, thermal r&d turbo back exhaust(3 inch), Raquel length exhaust manifold with tial waste gate. I just mounted a fmic with a tial blowoff valve and was wondering if I should look into getting a bigger fuel pump or any other concerns that you guys can think of. Pushing around 18 pounds of boost as well. Thanks!

Welcome! Nice looking car.

I think basically everyone on this forum would recommend, given your current mods, a Walbro 255 and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Necessary? Maybe not. But if you are interested in playing around with the car, turning it up maybe in the future etc, this is cheap insurance. Especially if you don't know how old the current pump is. Many vendors shown at the bottom of this page will sell these items with install kits made for your car. Pretty straight forward bolt on affair.

What tuning solution does the car have? It has injectors and a turbo so I would think it should have something. Filling out your vehicle profile will help in the future for questions, as it gives everyone all the info on your car.

I believe the guy I bought it off of said it did have a tune but I’m not sure exactly what.

Might be worth looking inside the ECU case to see what's going on, and/or checking with the previous owner.

In fact you should investigate this before you drive the car anymore.

Basically no you dont need a bigger fuel pump unless you have modified the engine management settings to calibrate for more airflow from a bigger turbo

If the previous owner just slapped a 16g on there and bigger injectors; the cars ecu would still be calibrated for a stock fuel system. Even with a bigger pump and injectors the factory calibrated ecu would not be happy seeing a bigger turbo sucking more air and it would cut fuel thinking its saving the motor.

If your car can actually run 18psi to redline in third gear its likely the car has had its factory ecu recalibrated.

My personal opinion is more of these motors have had their bearings scortched from gasoline in the crankcase causing rod knock from over fueling. So your want to monitor your air fuel ratio with an aftermarket wideband oxygen sensor and gauge
