Finish up my fuel system and I have deleted all the emissions. The line that goes to the charcoal canister do I cap it or vent it? I’m running full e-85 and air getting into gas tank is bad.

After doing a bunch of research and I still don’t have an answer, some people say add a check valve?

There is a factory check valve at the far end of this line inside the engine bay just before the charcoal canister. Most people that delete that stuff just leave the check valve in place, and the output hose cut and vented right under the passenger side wheel well; there is a small gap between frame and chassis there. I've got mine wedged in there for years now, no smells at the back, and few if any smells up front, granted the valve works as it should and the tank doesn't over pressurize.

Any one-way check valve rated for fuel/air and matching the hose ID should work for you. After a quick google search this comes up:

Funny thing is, I bought this EXACT same check valve for like $3 here locally and used it in-line with the factory valve cover PCV to act as a double measure. The actual manufacturer is "Topran", I don't know if you have it in the US. Sum bitches from Porsche adding a premium price on it just because of the name...

You could also check junk yards for any emissions-equipped mitsubishi and just pull a similar valve.

p.s now hold on just a minute, says you're from California. Don't you guys get in trouble for messing with the emissions stuff over there?

You HAVE to vent this line to keep the fuel system safe. And you want a check valve to keep junk from getting back the other way into the tank.

I am not sure why you attached a picture of the fuel hanger for reference as those lines are not vent lines. Those three lines are the feed, return and cross feed from the drivers side.

If I remember correctly, the line you want is positioned on top of the tank and runs along the side of the gas tank and then of course depending on year, to wherever your charcoal canister is. I personally turned mine down at the tank and put the check valve there instead of under the hood.

Is this the line from the filler neck that goes into the old charcoal canister? What did you end up doing with yours. I’ve removed all the hard lines and wondering if I can just dump this out under the car somewhere with a check valve like above posts mention

Yup, that’s all you need to do. I dumped mine right at the tank to keep the smell out of the front cabin. I also put a small screen over it just in case.

Slight thread revival. Got around to putting the inline then the little cover that has the screen on it. It’s under the car just in front of the back wheels (inline with parking brake cables)
