I mentioned in another thread I’ve had my garage clogged with everything other than 4g63 junk lately, and brings me to the realization a bunch of us have other garbage to work on wether it’s a daily, winter beater, another fun project, etc, many of us constantly curse ourselves to working on something no matter what it is so it gave me an idea for a thread just to start the small talk. I figured I’ll get the ball rolling.

Currently I’m working on my ‘06 Crown Vic Police Interceptor I call “deep cover”. This has been hands down one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, my wife daily’d it for 6 years hauling the kids to and from school and going to the grocery store. I’ll say from experience, an old police car is ideal for hauling kids around between the vinyl flooring and deferring some from driving like a jackass when they see what looks to be a police car. We have grown to a mini van family so it’s my beater now, I swore up and down all summer I’d fix it and of course procrastinated until I put my ‘94 Ranger in winter storage next week as I’ve dailyd the Ranger since roads got clean in the spring (The DSM and the Ranger don’t come out from early November to mid April, roads are a salty wonderland in that time frame here in Ohio). I bet anyone familiar with the Ford modular V8’s can guess what occurred here…

I love the ol' police interceptor Crown Vics. They're ridiculously easy to work on, and routinely get like 400-500k miles on them. Not to mention the SOHC 4.6 is ripe for boost at any point in time. I want one just for a sleeper/cruiser, but honestly ever since clee-douche mcfartstain started his crown vic shenanigans, it's made their prices rise.

Thankfully I haven't had to work on anything other than the DSM lately except installing my Powerstop Z23 Front Brake upgrade kit on the 2015 Edge Sport

Bedded them in and it helped immensely(and it fixed the huge vibration due to warped rotors :p), but my God do I need to paint those calipers front and rear. I think a nice cliche red would be perfect. Might be the next thing I do, after I replace the rear brakes with the same thing(PowerStop Z23).

My daily is a small project, I got it as a nice upgraded daily as my old one rusted out and its already been on a track day, got coilovers, made suspension parts for it and brakes. Plus some engine parts and bigger throttle body, Its now come from 201hp to about 250hp ish. Its fun and nimble in the corners for a daily. Infact yesterday i had a BMW driver chase me down to pull next to me saying how he struggled to catch up while i went fast on a long off ramp and i pulled away from him more LOL

Its not going to be anything other then my daily but its one i never thought i would modify but anything that gets done to it HAS to be subtle and keep it reliable. So as much of it is black and stealth looking.

Next up is a new intake kit to replace my first one i made and a black intercooler and new pipes as i dont like the oem hardpipe and while i got silicones made im not into them much

Dont take many pics of the daily so its about as good as i got

Building a new engine for this this winter and doing a bunch of pump work as well as hopefully some new seat covers. God damn expensive hobbies haha

Been restoring an R33 Skyline for the past few months with the idea to get it in really good shape and document it all so I can sell it for a nice profit. I invested all my saved up cash into this so it's all-in and doing my best to get it done. Initially I did the trunk area and now moved onto the engine bay. In the meanwhile I'm gathering parts and gonna be assembling the motor soon (RB20DET) coupled with an HX35. My DSM sits covered and not being driven for weeks on end, I can feel it getting jealous but honestly that car has had enough attention and money thrown at it, let it chill for a bit eh.

P.S If anybody wants to import and buy the Skyline let me know, I live in a port city I'll help with exporting it LOL :D

When I'm not working on my 2 DSM's, I'm working on my Yamaha R1, R6, and YFZ 450 🥵.
It's a lot to keep everything maintained and running

Currently have a 09 GSX-R engine pulled out because someone didn't tighten down a spark plug and the compression and combustion forces shot the plug out ripping all the threads out of the head.

I'm working on my garage.

My neighbor drove THROUGH the garage door and hit my MR-2 on Saturday. I finally got the door tracks repaired enough to get one of the doors open and get the cars out, but now I have 5 cars on the street.
I also worked on this pumpkin today.

I have my V45 Magna that had its carbs taken off to fix a gas leak from a transfer tube but now can't for the life of me get the dam things on without springs going everywhere. My '87 IROC-Z Convertible needs a motor rebuild but another engine build got in the way this year, maybe next. I still need to R&R the auto trans that broke its main shaft a couple hundred miles into it being installed and I need to get the motor trans back into the Red Talon and an engine swap out of the White GSX. All motors are ready but I am only one guy with too much going on. I need another shop just for the motorcycle, mini-bikes and go carts that I have for the grandkids (and me) so I can claim the middle bay back for my herd of cars.
If anyone around here knew how to wrench on these things, I'd hire help LOL.

That ass hat starts buying up everything I like to drive. “Hey let’s buy up all the Crown Vic p71’s and screw them up” or “hey let’s smash up a bunch of Ranger’s!”, then everyone sees I have a Crown Vic p71 and a Ranger and assume I like that guy haha

100% agreed. I honestly can’t stand him, especially since he got his ass drug by Kenny Kline and friends, and instead of being a man and building something to compete he goes and borrows a buddies Tesla plaid. But eh, what’re you gonna do.

Just picked up an 02 wrx that's needs an engine. So ive been tickering with it.

A subie that needs an engine? Unheard of! LOL

All jokes aside I wouldn’t mind a bug eye or hawkeye wrx.

I have a 1984 V45 Magna and know your issue. Have had the carbs off mine and rebuilt many times since I bought it in 1986. Are you talking about the inlet tube the main fuel hose attaches to which is plastic and cracks? Also have the factory manual if you need any pages copied.

Somehow I don't think you mean a bug eye Sprite do you... (https://www.bugeyeguy.com/)

Replaced a bad TPMS sensor in my ‘17 Impreza daily driver. First time removing the bead from a car tire with a 2x4 in my driveway. It appears the operation was successful. Tire shop wanted $120 and while I have the money, I don’t have the ability to overpay.

Other than that, “working” on these days is finishing up a graduate degree I started before Covid hit.

That is exactly what was going on. I put metal tubes back on but can't figure out how to get the 4 of them back on now Gary. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I haven't done the tubes yet. Mine started very slowly overnight leaking on that one inlet tube couple years ago {the tube with the fuel hose on it that rotates up/down too easily and so leaks there (and so puddles on the floor), probably either cracked or the o-rings bad}. So I purchased that one real Honda tube/o-rings part (#16026-MB0-671). But last year it mysteriously stopped leaking on it's own, so I'm leaving it alone until it starts again - as you KNOW what a job it is getting those carbs out and back in (if it's not broke, don't fix it)! What I've done over the years many times however, is take the carbs out, cleaned the jets, adjust float levels, replace gaskets, adjust each carbs idle with a manometer. I actually even have another set of carbs from another 84 V45 Magna that I may sell someday. This bike has been my favorite one and I always keep it running like a top. This and the V65 IMO are Honda's most popular models of the era. One of the earlyest sport bikes with 4 cyls, 4 valves/cyl, water cooled, shaft drive, 4 sync'd carbs, and a LOT of acceleration power and torque for only 700cc. And totally maintenance free, I love it! If you need the manual pics of the carbs, etc, send me your email address and which you want. What year is yours?

Mine is also a 1984 (antique tagged). I have ridden a V65 also and MAN.....WHOOO it's a hell of a machine. My V45 was awesome but hasn't started in over 3 yrs now. Just have to get the carbs/ intake box etc back on. My son says it needs new tube clamps but I have the originals, they are just old. I have a spare 1984 bike/motor, NO CARBS sitting as a spare that was given to me. Those carb springs on the shafts worry me as they can get away from me real easy. I have the whole thing in a shoebox, still assembled.
