My B16G turbine housing cracked and died (D2 casting)

I have located a E3 style replacement, but noticed the internal chambers do not line up perfectly to my ported 2G O2 housing. If you compare the 2G SS gasket to a E3 SS gasket you will notice what I'm talking about.

My question today:
What O2 housing makes a good transition from an E3 turbine housing to a 2G down-pipe flange?

I'd like to avoid reworking my downpipe, and I'd like to keep a cast housing that uses the stock O2 manifold heat shields.

Suggestions?

Evo III o2 housing and deal with the potential fitment issues, or something custom-fabricated. You can also port your existing o2 housing but you'll never get it to a full 60mm throughout the entire piece like an Evo III o2 housing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone (RRE?) used to make a downpipe that worked with the Evo III housing? Are there no longer any options?

Yes they did, many moons ago LOL. Downpipes are no longer available from them. They did make some really nice quality ones too.

Yeah, I've had this car nearly 20-years and it's mostly sat for the last decade, but now that I'm now getting back into it, I'm finding A LOT of stuff is no longer available.

Good downpipes is one of them. The non-SS flex pipe on my existing downpipe is on its way out, and since my downpipe was previously hacked-up for a cat-install to pass emissions I'm thinking it would be better to just purchase a new unit as opposed to repairing my old one.

Is there a "go-to" downpipe these days? I see a lot of mention of Megan Racing but I can't even find where that one is sold. It also looks like its got an odd transition/reduction right up near the O2 housing.

This one looks on the PR website looks perfect (2.75" at the O2, opening to 3" almost immediately after):

...but it links to a dead amazon.com link and I can't find it anywhere for the life of me. I would probably be upgrading to an Evo3 O2 housing at the same time, so would be having the flange cut and re-welded on at the proper angle.

It was hard getting a down pipe in 2019 when I bought my dsm, especially for a fwd. Are you looking for a 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive down pipe? I have a donor car that has a 2 wheel drive aftermarket down pipe on it.

@High PSI I feel your pain. I am running the Evo 3 O2 housing and the RRE downpipe is exactly what I needed, but the only option these days seems to be custom. I was planning to scrap my Megan unit but I guess I'll keep using it for now. STM is holding the fort down with good current exhaust options and I should have bought their downpipe when I ordered my catback, but c'est la vie.

Thanks Randman - I really appreciate the info. However I've had a horrible experience with STM so they've permanently lost my business. I'll need to look elsewhere.

Adding this here - The 7cm E3 Clone turbine housing from the likes of Mamba - is a match to the E3-02 manifold. You would think - Well yah duh 🙄 but this is after after market times we live in with multiple universes - so let it be noted here:

An existing downpipe can be modified to account for the angle of the E3 o2 housing. The RRE downpipe fit perfectly.

There was also a batch of older MR downpipes that were fit for the Evo3 o2 instead of 2g o2 housing.

Can someone take a picture of what the difference between the two downpipes are? Like is it the angle or something else?
It's the difference of angle that the upper downpipe flange sits in relation to the O2 outlet flange. The E3 is a few degrees steeper but I never got round to trying to measure. Eyeball guesstimate says something like 15 deg or so. From memory, the rest of the downpipe and the angle of the pipe leading down stays the same; clearance with the oil pan is not an issue since powertrain and drivetrain are 99% identical.

Here are two more pics I had when I was comparing them. You can see a clear difference in angle. Evo 3 top, T25 bottom.
Next pic is Evo 3 right, T25 left.
