How tf am I suppose to connect this. I can't have the pipe over my shifting cable, it won't let me move into gear. With it on the side, I can't connect it to the elbow. Can I get some suggestions ?

I finally got me a filter for 38$, I got me a flex pipe for 11$ at advance and my injector clips weren't really sitting firm, snapping into place so I replaced them w some extras I had aside. thinking I'm ready to go,I'm not LOL

I’ve tried brazing and I failed. Not sure why but it wouldn’t stick. Best bet is to have someone weld it for you
I couldn't get it to stick either LOL. I'm heading to the corner store for some JB weld for now. 😂

I'll get some one to weld it here soon, which means taking it off again LOL my goodness smh

With all 3 of my short route fmic kits I've had, I've always had to flip my intake pipe upside down to get the IC piping lined up right. This will probably mean that you won't be able to recirculate your bov though. I know it will make my car. 05 slower in the 1/4 mile haha but I always vent that b. You're close man! Pretty soon you'll be enjoying it again 👊

I believe wednesday I was able to start it up and do some pulls to log. Here is a video of it idling and what I currently did which was JB welded the Throttle body elbow, cut some more metal off near my air filter so it can breathe, used some radiator flex pipe from advance auto to recirculate my BOV back to intake, and added this air filter from Ebay which ran me 40$.

the video may be poor cause i uploaded from phone to laptop through email.

I took it for a spin to the gas station and came back home fine. It was time to do another run to log and this time, when going into 2nd, I heard a huge pop and I kinda already knew what it was LOL .

I was left stranded during traffic which I had no clue was on its way, and pushed it to the middle crossover. I looked under the hood and walked back home know what tools/couplers to get. I will never JB weld another pipe again LOL. I went back with mother in the 4runner and got it running in 2 minutes. i drove it slowly home.

here is what I ended up doing, which I probably should have from the beginning.

I ordered a front license plate holder from @jersygsx & a knob for my fan control, which i was missing. All my interior is complete now.

I installed this pieces and went for a cruise I think 2 days ago for some more logging. This time, on the way home, down the street, my clutch pedal went all the way down and wouldn't come back up. I was waiting to take a turn to my house and my vehicle stalled.(embarring moment LOL ). I lifted it back up with my foot and turned it over and it acted normal for the few feet I needed to get it back in the garage.

my straight pipe from the fmic is laying right on top of the rubber line which is attached to the transmission. i removed the one bolt and its free but the damage is already done. I ordered a ss braided line which should be here monday. My brother came over that evening and I was showing him and I noticed my belt was wet, AGAIN :mad:

I lifted the vehicle and took off the wheel and saw that my front seal is leaking AGAIN. I had already replaced this pos like 2-3 times. Not only that, but I found my alternator belt was chewed up from the side.

I found a thread and realized I had my water pump pulley on back wards which caused that.

INCORRECT WAY- notice the gap
IMG_20220325_152100658.jpg

CORRECT WAY - notice no gap
IMG_20220325_154103501.jpg

I ordered the belt already and it should be in Monday - wednesday. I also ordered another seal which should be in around the same time.

difficult to see but you've seen it a million times, soaked w oil underneath and Timing belt soaked.

Now I read the other day that you DO NOT WANT the seal to be flush. This is something new that I've heard but I can understand if its required for these machines cause they are fuqin picky. I read you want the seal to sit A HAIR ABOVE flushed and that I should go ahead and cut a few coils from the spring behind the seal and that should do the job. I will, AGAIN, check my surfaces on the crank and casing. The front plate is new but I will still check again and take lots of photos. If I can't fix this seal, that means I have to pull this bytch out, replace the crank &/or replace the front plate again. I may replace the front plate first because if it doesn't fix the situation, I can use it to start on a new 4g63 build. it won't go to waste. ughh, please lord jesus..let me fix it this time LOL

I just took it apart right now. currently waiting on parts. here is the time it took

its not the work or the time/energy, its more discouraging that my job isn't working, when it should. Its like changing your brakes 3 times in one month... you end up saying, " again??"

oh well, the fight continues:hellyeah:

Are you using oem seals?
Yeah I think so. I had a bunch given to me in a stash. I ordered a black one from felpro. I need to get my half inch impact back from brother and I can take off the crank pulley and check for sure. I usually use OEM before anything but if I have it here already, I usually just run with whatever I have. I'll order an OEM one if its not OEM on there.

The first time, with old front plate/pump, it leaked. It was OEM gasket I think. replaced front plate cause pump, used whatever came with plate/new pump, same leak, then I replaced the seal w OEM which was the recent(in it now). And now again it leaks.. I never once cut any coils on the spring cause I shouldnt have too so I'ma kinda stumped.

I'll do ANOTHER extreme thorough check tomorrow when I dig into it. 🤘🏼

I feel like I've made a rookie mistake because I should've known but lied to myself. When you search 4g63 front plate/oil pump, I see a notch on the bottom where the crank inserts. Its showing the back though. I have had damn near 8 front plates but I recycled them all and probably looked at the back as well instead of front, where the seal lays.

Now if you look at mine, from the front, it looks broken off or chipped. This is where it leaks from.

I assumed it was casted that way, maybe I did it, idk. I don't care either. I'm pretty damn sure that's exactly why I'm leaking there, not cause of my seals or cause it needs to be a hair above, or a tighter spring. If any of you guys have a junk one laying around and can show me the front to compare, I'd appreciate it. I'm going to fix my clutch line now and remove this front plate / oil pump. 😁

I emailed the seller to see if they can help me in any way. I sent them pictures & about to go send them the link to my build since it's all documented. Anyways, here's some photos of it off.

Pan is clean, oil is clean. Even before this I made a video where I was recording the crank and while I pushed my clutch in, I wanted to see if any play was there causing it to move, which there isn't

Trying to think if I should use same acl plate , new of course, & have them check and send pics of the cast first or find another source. 😑

Thursday I messaged the ebay seller cause I'm getting impatient. I went ahead and called ACL and talked to a lady & she said they don't warranty unless it direct from the & that they don't have any associations w any ebay sellers. I called their other number to get a price Incase it was cheaper than getting from a seller/other site. I mentioned my situation to him & the vehicle it was for, he said "did you buy it from so&so online, with the pictures "? I said, I did! He said, yeah we'll go ahead and warranty that, no problem.

He wrote to that same lady and she wrote to the seller(which is more than likely a actual business outside of eBay) & the seller wrote back to me that same moment. I confirmed my address and they're sending me a replacement 😁.

The man told me to make sure that my crank was peened or get it peened(I'm not sure if I'm using the word correctly) cause he's seen some DSM cranks off a hair and that hair has caused a leak from the seal. If it leaks from the seal after this replacement, I'll take this engine apart & get ALL of my 8 cranks checked so I won't go through this again, /prevention.

Anyways, I replaced my rubber transmission line & going to look up to see which sensor this is cause it broken/loose but the connectors still connect. I don't want this to slow me down the road.

Mann, idk... This crank has some good scoring on it and I can feel it w my nail. This what the guy over at ACL told me to look out for and has caused leaks by the seal. I have a bunch of replacement crankshafts and they don't have scoring like this. If I put this new front plate on and it leaks again LOL. I'ma feel worse than how this POS is making me feel.

I still ain't driven this bytch fully and it's so damn annoying 😡😡😡😡

That’s a bummer. Hopefully it’s not the cause of the leak 🤞
Think I should just put the plate back on & see how it holds ? If it leaks, I'ma blame the crank. I gotta go visit a shop and see if any of these other cranks I'm holding are even worth it.

Fuq it, I'ma run it and see😑
I appreciate u guys, foreal
