Just got the Comp Clutch Flywheel and SBC Clutch. Does the Flywheel come with the correct Step Height for our cars? Or do I need to have it machined?

Always measure. You probably do not but you need to check. Once it's installed it's too late and a lot more work if you need to fix it.Just got the Comp Clutch Flywheel and SBC Clutch. Does the Flywheel come with the correct Step Height for our cars? Or do I need to have it machined?
When did you purchase yours? I ordered mine thru ExtremePSI and it was dropped shipped. When I bought my CC flywheel the step was short at .6065 out of the box. I bought it from TMZ Performance & contacted them. At the time they had several flywheels on the shelf & measured theirs & they all measured short too. Contacted CC for help & they said that I would have to pay to get the step remachined. I bought an ACT Streetlite & it measured correctly at .610. I would measure your CC Flywheel & check. My ACT flywheel's quality was very noticeably better than the CC Flywheel I had, measured both. I did my measuring on a CMM & besides the step size measurement I checked flatness & parallelism.

Caliper is not the right tool. Depth mic is what you need.Yeah... the digital calipers i had measured from .600 - .630... I was waiting on getting a better set. But I called CC and they stated I don't need to get it machined and it comes pre-stepped for our cars...
But I'll get it measured again to verify.
Thank you guys!
You are correct. I was waiting to get my hands on a set today... but figured I would get an estimate with the calipers...Caliper is not the right tool. Depth mic is what you need.
Agreed. Better than nothing. You are correct. I was waiting to get my hands on a set today... but figured I would get an estimate with the calipers...
