It's been a bit since we've posted an update, and this year has been the worst I've experienced with Mitsubishi in 25 years...

That said, we've gotten a bunch of parts in recently that have been on back order status in the U.S. for months, and news of yet another part being discontinued.

First, the parts we've been waiting on (some for over 6 months) that have recently arrived:

-- MB895431 Non-ABS Proportioning Valves for the Galant VR-4, 1G AWD Cars, or 1G FWD Cars that have upgraded to dual-piston calipers (we received 8 of the 10 we had on back order since March--three of which were pre-sold to customers. 4 remaining available) These are the correct Proportioning Valves for the 1G AWDs with Dual-Piston Front Calipers. We do have the MB699646 units available for single-piston (small) front calipers, but don't sell many due to most people upgrading to larger brakes.

-- MB895931 Non-ABS Proportioning Valves for the 2G Turbo Cars (FWD and AWD). Received 5 of 10 we had on back order since May. <Sold Out>. On Back order status again.

-- MR111611 1G/2G AWD Driveshaft Yokes. We've had a ton of these on back order since the MR470072 yoke recall kits were discontinued several months ago. We've been able to obtain 7 so far. We currently have 3 remaining available.

--MB154554 1G/2G AWD Driveshaft Universal Joints. Same story as above---we have received 6 so far. 2 remaining in stock.

--MB837577 Front and Rear Driveshaft Carrier Bearings, 2G AWD. On U.S. back order status since May. *edit* <sold out>

--MB505495 Front and Rear Driveshaft Carrier Bearings, 1G AWD. On U.S. back order status since June. 3 remaining in stock

--MR199811 2G Sunroof weatherstrip/seal. Finally off of back order again. Sales are on hold until we receive the rest from Mitsu.

There are some other small things (for example, brake reservoir caps), but the above were the ones that we were most relieved about getting more in.

Now, the bad news: Mitsubishi has now officially discontinued the black, 6-bolt lower timing belt covers (Galant VR-4 originals). We were able to grab the last 6 available a couple of weeks ago. MD141456. These typically sell as quickly as they come in---<edit> and now they are gone.

They have also discontinued the 1G 4-Bolt Axle cups which we have one last unit bouncing around somewhere on its way to us, which is already sold.

Mitsubishi should probably change it's catch-phrase to: "Another Day, Another Disco".

Another edit: I forgot about this part, but a customer (who's gmail account is full and my reply is bouncing) asked about these.

It's kind of a stupid part, but still sells for some reason. We have (4) of the MD735585 (Transmission Cable Brackets--91-92 GVR4, 91-94 DSM) in stock which are ridiculously hard to squeeze out of Mitsu anymore. This is the bracket that holds the cables to the trans in the engine bay. https://jnztuning.com/product/shift-cable-bracket-91-94-dsm-galant-vr-4/

We also have one MD747231 (same part but for the 2G GSX/GS-T) which is similarly out of stock in the U.S. constantly. We don't receive enough to even put these up on the site, so you'd have to email us at [email protected] if you want it.

It should have said 3 at the time your order went in--I just changed it again to "2".

I'm not sure. I'm half tempted to keep one for myself. :-/

Appreciate the order, Deric! I'll send you tracking in a few minutes--I just got finished shipping the order for one prior to yours!.

Yes, the silver are still available, but they’ve become more sporadic as well.
Have those on the shelf, and Mitsu still has some stock in the U.S.

This has been the worst last 6-8 months (It has been crap since Feb 2020, but let's face it, even worse the last 6-8 months) for ordering, receiving, orders dropped, timelines that should be 1-4 days turning into 1-6 months, and nearly every order I receive is a partial order, resulting in taking even longer to complete jobs. Seriously. Then put on top of that a huge portion of the transmission parts going obsolete. It has been very difficult. Even simple stuff like an Evo crank, PDC says 4-6 days, took 7 weeks. Evo 3 3/4 shift rails, 6 week ETA turned into 7 months, receiving a partial order. DSM 3/4 hub and sliders....6+ months to receive partial order. Don't even get me started on shims....Mitsu obsoleted a HUGE number of them and really screwed us.

As a heads up, I did remanufacture the MD717879 speedo gears used for Quaife, Cusco, KAAZ differentials is you need any. Mitsubishi discontinued that part in beginning of March. I think I have about 30 left at the time of this post of the ones I had made.

I seriously don't know how Mitsubishi is going to recover, it is ridiculous.

Tim,

Wish I had known about the MD717879s. I had two in stock a while ago. Both sold, and I immediately had orders for two more. I could have sent them your way.

I got out of the transmission aspect about 8 years ago due to the above. I still sell a lot of parts for Evo 8/9/10s, but those are even a crap-shoot with getting everything (as is usual at this point).

I'm going to PM you as well on something.
