Hey yall my names jay. Im 18, from Virginia and i grew semi familiar with the 3g eclipse n/a 5 speed about 3 years ago when my dad bought one to fix up/remove tasteless mods. 4 or 5 months ago i bought my 1998 eclipse GS with the 5 speed transmission. I know It isnt the best of the 2g eclipse’s but its my first car its in pretty good condition for a 23 year old eclipse and ive wanted a 2g eclipse since i was a little kid. I love the car overall but eventually i do want to swap in a 4g63 or if that doesnt work out just get a decent turbo kit. So far for performance/handling mods ive put on megan racing coil overs, megan racing catback exhaust system (2.5” pipe, 4.5” tip), megan racing headers, megan racing rear lower tie strut bar, DNA motoring strut bar, airade poweraid throttle body spacer and spectre ram air intake. Ive also put in a skar audio 15, i have some skar audio 6.5 and 6x9’s that should get here soon and im about to order 2 skar audio 8s. I put it on the 16” 3g eclipse alloy 10 spoke rims and I put in a pretty cool green and blue gauge light kit that was in the trunk when i bought it with a knob that changes brightness and a switch that changes the color.

I just got a new starter that im putting on tomorrow and i have those damn door handles and a new horn coming in the mail soon cus the driver side outside handle broke (the inside one still works) so im gonna put those on and i figured out that the horn or maybe the wiring going to the horn itself is bad. Thats about all the mechanical problems but i think im going to replace the valve cover gasket tomorrow because its burning oil and running a little rough at idle and revving up from idle until around 3500 rpms. But its not too bad that im worried about it yet LOL we’ll see how that gasket change works.

But anyway im glad to be here feel free to ask how/where i ran the wiring for the subwoofers or anything about the other mods ive added and ill post some better pictures of the car and parts listed tomorrow when its bright out.

PSA. I know the engine bay is dirtier than a strip club bathroom and that spectre intake is just as dirty and a little squished. Since taking that picture i cleaned the intake and then went and just bought a new one cus it was too far gone. Im hoping to have the time within a couple days to clean up the engine bay as best as i can but im waiting till after I replace the valve cover gasket.
Also those 2 pictures of the car are from a lil while ago and the front bumper got yanked out of place but i got that sorted out.

18 year old eh ? .. What do you know about dirty strip club bathrooms LOL LOL LOL
First .. welcome to the site .. Looks like you have yourself a pretty clean ( on the outside ) car .. I agree the engine bay needs to be cleaned up ..
I`m wondering if The Fast and Furious movies had anything to do with the bug you have for the Mitsubishi...???
