How to wire up wideband gauge

Hello everybody. I feel like this is a pretty noobish question, but I've been searching here and there for the past while and haven't come up with a clear answer.

I have a wideband O2 sensor in my car, which is connected to an AEM infinity ECU. I want a wideband gauge to keep an eye on my AFRs at all times. All of the gauges I see for sale come with their own wideband sensor and harness, and they are costly because of that. I'd prefer to just buy the gauge as I believe I have the correct sensor to work with AEMs AFR gauge. So...
Could I have the gauge spliced into the harness coming off my O2 sensor? What's the correct way to have an AFR signal going to your ECU and to a gauge?
 
Hey I have an Innovate LC2 wideband setup going to my ECU with DSMlink v3.

Although you have an aftermarket ECU and already have the wideband sensor I feel that I can attempt to marry the two ideas so you know how to go about this and hopefully someone in the community has already done exactly what you need done and can either correct me or revise me.

"Each kit includes an LC-2 wideband controller, Bosch LSU4.2 wideband oxygen sensor, 8 foot-long sensor cable, bung/plug kit and a basic installation pamphlet" stolen from ECM tuning inc. - This is basically to say you would only need the gauge and the controller for the gauge to mate it to your ECU, seeing as you have everything else. I would assume sticking with AEM products (ie: UEGO X-series) would be easiest but I'm sure you could easily run the innovate unit with LC2 controller instead.

Obviously your pin out readings will not be the same but the splicing locations should be.

According to AEM the X-series can log around 20-50ms quicker than the onboard infinity wideband should you need more accurate readings in the future. Hope this helps.

You have two options.

#1: Get a standalone wideband AFR gauge kit (The connection would be, sensor -> gauge unit -> Infinity), then first you have to make sure what sensor your have but anyways you will need a gauge unit and 2 harnesses (1 for the gauge unit and 1 for the sensor). So I imagine if you buy those parts separately, the price may be more expensive than buying a complete X-Series w/sensor. I think it's better to get a complete kit and keep the sensor you have as a spare.

#2: Get a CAN Bus gauge or a CAN Bus dash display. The connection would be, sensor -> Infinity -> Gauge (or display). As you mentioned that a wideband sensor is already connected to the infinity, if so, you don't probably need to change the wiring with this route.

I would highly suggest getting an AEM CAN gauge because it allows you to display pretty much any engine parameter on the gauge. If you're on the side of the road with some issue you can flip through the gauge display to see if you can catch anything. Plus, it has custom failsafe alerts to let you know if anything thing is too high/low.
