Hey,
i drive a D30 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse non turbo and I am having problems after rebuilding the engine.
I had a bearing failure, so I took the engine out to rebuild it. After I installed the engine back in my chassis, i tried to start the car, but the Car did not start.

The engine did crank and i have Compression, the timing is right, the fuel system is under preassure and the injectors seem to also be working. But i dont have any Spark.
I thought the problem could be somewhere in the ignition coils, but i think its unlikely that both fail at the same time. So i think that the ECU is for some reason not letting my car spark.

I noticed a plug which remained unconnected. On my notes i wrote that it needs to go the the throttle valve, but i dont seem to find anywhere the plug could fit to. I will add some fotos of the plug. Does anyone know where this plug should lead too?
Is the engine not starting if certain plugs are missing?

I appreciate every help i can get, i am really desperate
Thanks in advance and greetings form Germany!

It looks almost like the throttle positon sensor, but it is slighlty bigger, so it does not fit. The idle control valve is also already connected. I looked at the electric faq and i found where the plug goes to, but i cant tell what park this is. I dont remember ever having something like this. Maybe its just for the turbo models.
I attached a foto of the part.

Is the front oxygen sensor hooked up? That's what that plug appears to be for.

The device in your second post is the auto-cruise control vacuum pump. If your car doesn't have cruise control, it won't have the pump.

Thanks mate, i think thats its. The plugs for the oxygen sensor and the vacuum pump are the same.
I connected the wrong one to the oxygen sensor. I will test it out and write back.
Thanks again !
