2G AWD vs FWD fuel sending unit and kinked fuel line

Hello tuners, in the process of trying to pull my stock fuel pump to install my walbro 255 I have kinked the fuel sending unit hard line quite a bit...

So I have two questions. The first: is the line kinked enough to the point that it will effect fuel flow? After all what is the point of a higher flowing pump if the line cannot flow the pump?
And second: I found a new fuel sending unit on rockauto as there are no more oem units available. However the rock auto part states it is for FWD. Is there a difference between the AWD and fwd units? From a quick search it looks like the AWD has the fuel gauge sender and pump assembly together and fwd has it separate.
Really wish I had thought a bit more before putting all my strength on a little metal line...

It looks like I could just remove the stock hard line and put this in it's place. Can anyone confirm?

Yes, you should be able to put that in its' place (weld it on too). These parts are obviously no longer made, so modding them so they still function is one of the few options. A kink in your line would add resistance to the fuel flow, so in theory, it should affect flow (if you think about it like electricity and electrical resistance). Also, the FWD unit bolts onto the top of the fuel tank, unlike the AWD version, so doubt the 2 would have any sort of compatible parts between them that aren't removable.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm gonna go with the link I posted as it doesn't appear to require any welding and get a tank to rail an line kit. Not something I planned on doing but when does it ever go according to plan haha.

Interesting read so I jumped on Fleebay and found same fittings -06an 2 for $9.95 just saying. I’m pretty sure all these fittings are made in the same factory and range from cents to dollars depending who you buy from.

I used that same fitting after I cracked the high pressure hard line. It’s pretty low profile, so you shouldn’t run into any clearance issues when putting the access cover back on. One thing I did run into using that fitting was that fuel vapors could get past the seal. That might have been because the top of my fuel sending unit was pretty pitted. If you run into that issue, permatex makes a fuel resistant sealant that worked nicely for me.

I hopped in eBay and found the fittings you're talking about. The only thing that concerns me is they seem longer than the STM one and I know clearance for the 2g AWD hanger is a factor.

There’s a ton of different options I was just saying that quite a bit cheaper. I’m not opposed to doing some custom work either
