So I have a 93 Talon TSi AWD with 272/262 cams and have been running a GM MAF with a MAFT along with SAFC2, I would have to adjust my idle pretty frequently with that set up and just recently decided to get ECMLINK V3 so I zeroed out the MAFT and SAFC 2, checked for boost leaks, set up ECMLINK with my PTE 680cc injectors, the GM MAF along with the MAFT zeroed out. My issue is when I setup ECMLINK with my GM MAF 3in it will start and die out instantly but when I set it up with any other MAF setting on ECMLINK it doesn't die out but idles rough. I get the best idle when I set up my MAF settings to EVO8/3G MAF and even then it idles rough I have tried to see if it is any better with the ISC unplugged, MAF unplugged and have checked for boost leaks. My innovate A/F wide band tells me I am running rich at idle I have adjusted the fuel settings but it doesn't do much. I have attached a datalog any suggestions would be great.

1) Check simulate idle switch with tps
2) enable tps adjustments and get tps to 0.63 v
3) uncheck disable maf compensation with sd operation
4) drop your deadtime to zero
5) I don't mess with MAFs so maybe someone else can chime in
Report back.

I have tried checking the simulate idle switch with tps and it didn't make much of a difference
My tps varies from 0.63v and 0.65v on that log it was at 0.65v most of the time I'll make further adjustments to it tomorrow
I tried unchecking disable maf comp with sd operation it didn't do anything
By deadtime do you mean my fuel global deadtime?
It also bogs down when I rev it up runs rich thru out the whole rev range
I checked my spark plugs and wires they are fine.
Appreciate the reply.

Yes, your car is running extremely rich. Reduce your global deadtime until it hovers as close to zero as possible.

So I adjust my fuel Global Deadtime untill all my fuel trims are at zero? I currently have it set at 300 suggested by ecmtuning wiki Injector Data comp. For my injectors I have it set at -29% Global Fuel.

It’s possible that you need to adjust your maf air flow sliders to bring down airflow in the idle region, but yes, adjust deadtime by 50, reset fuel trims at top of screen and repeat until combinedft hovers around zero.

So I have been able to get the car to idle fine at times but I'll turn the car off and when I turn it back on it won't idle at all even though the same settings I had made it idle great before I turned it off. What could be causing my idle to change so much randomly sometimes I'll also get random surges and I can stop them by turning on my A/C.

Always post a log of the activity. Your battery voltage is awful at 12.9v; That could be a factor. You need to make the adjustments that I mentioned in the first post even if it doesn't help. I suspect you need to reduce airflow sliders at idle hz, fix a vacuum leak, and redial in the BISS screw and deadtime and or global. I'd pay someone to remote tune it after that.

Here is a log. My voltage is bad because my starter is going bad I have another one coming in on saturday :). I did make the adjustments to the deadtime and airflow sliders I tried to keep my CombinedFT at 0% and from a demo video on ECMLink I tried keeping my AirflowPerRev at 0.25, I tried adjusting my BISS screw I know I'm supposed to adjust it till my ISCPosition is at 30 but my ISCPosition readings vary alot regardless of how I adjust it so I have just tried setting it to what gives me the best idle. If you have any suggestions for a remote tuner I'd like to hear them as well. Thanks.

Beautiful. That log is much much better. Everything looks solid except for tps. Follow the instructions on ecmlink until tps is at 0% at idle tps voltage is 0.63. Make sure tps hits 100% at wot. Should only take you 30 seconds. ISC is at 34 which is fine for now. If you want to perfect the idle, then go through this entire page. It seems pretty solid right now. Only make changes on the tune when the car is fully warmed up with fans off. Especially BISS and idle.

edit: BTW, starter would have nothing to do with battery voltage seen at ecu.

What is really strange to me is that I will get a good idle but if I turn my car off and then on again it will idle completely different sometimes really lean other times it will surge I've fixed all boost leaks and really don't know what could be causing that.

It's possible that the FIAV is broken/leaking. It can affect idle based on coolant temp and such. You may also have some type of fuel pressure leak. Can you verify fuel pressure?

My FIAV is blocked off and according to my FPR it is at 42psi
I am pretty sure I don't have a fuel pressure leak as I have an issue with my fuel gauge always reading, the previous owner did an EVAP delete and I think he didn't make an EVAP hose so I have to put fuel slowly or it will overflow I need to get to that and my fuel pressure is pretty consistent.

So I decided to remove the SAFC 2 I should have done this when I decided to switch to ECMLink and now my car won't idle like it did before I have my injector settings set and I really can't see the problem here is my log trying to start my car.
I disabled hot start but it didn't do anything.

Your battery is dead.

I have to recharge it but my car turns on but as you can see from the log it dies out if I plug the Safc 2 back it will stay on. I removed all the wires that came with it correctly and rewired the MAF sensor that went into the Safc 2 and I am getting MAF readings on my ECU so I don't know what's the issue here

Here is a log of when I went on a cruise I had the Safc 2 still on the car and ECMLink my cruise settings haven't been set and that is why I went on this drive because I thought I had solved my idle problem.

So here is an update I replaced all the spark plugs, and changed out the injectors for FIC 1000cc injectors I also got rid of the maft by getting the ECMLink GM maf cable I set everything up on ECMLink I had to increase the Global Fuel % and Global Dead Time way above the recommended ECMLink settings for my injectors to get the car to idle or even start. So I am getting idle surge I have checked non stop for air leaks but don't find any and the idle surge corrects itself if I keep my A/C on I attached a log. Thanks.

The charging system is still f***ed. You didn't setup your narrowband simulation. Wideband isn't assigned under ecu-side pins in ecu tab.
