I am looking for some opinions on color options for my 2g. I have always like the white car blacked out. Most of my cars has been this way. The car is 95 talon but with 97 appearance. Do you think I should keep it a factory paint color code? If so, should I stick with a year specific paint?

My opinion, I personally like the oslo green from the 96. I also like the celtic and kona blue. If anyone has pictures of the rare colors, post them up. I want to see more rare dsm colors. There are not many oslo green pics that I can find. I can find the paint codes without any issue. But seems there is misinformation. I see posts saying here is oslo green but actually is the tropical lime. I wanted to start a thread with more recent pictures with actual paint code and name with a picture with it.

If not a factory color, I have always liked the midnight purple. Or the cement or tan on the newer toyota trucks. Thoughts?

Purplr is nice. I think only DSM's are purple i have seen so its kind of rare color and will pop in the sun for sure

I like my Kona blue, but the only down side is newish dodges using a similar looking color, ie challenger, dart, etc. the Oslo is nice and rare and would definitely stand out!

^ I agree. My buddy had a OEM purple eclipse and it was a beauty in the sun.
Personally, I’m leaning really heavily to a red scheme for my personal car. Definitely not going OEM but I feel like I haven’t seen enough red eclipses around.

I second the Oslo green. I like that color and have never seen a color even remotely similar to it... I do enjoy a purple car, but personally sticking to OEM color codes will make the car stand out even more. Also I think the jade would look fantastic with a satin clear coat IMO:

I'm fairly certain 2 tone means that its the paint code for the car with black roof and spoiler as thats what I have.

Also chrysler and mitsubishi have different names for the same paint for some reason

For example my cars paint color is monarch green pearl in mitsubishi and polo green pearl for chrysler thus why they have same paint code

Also unsure how much paint to order. A gallon for basecoat for sure. Is a quart enough for the black roof, spoiler, and some of trunk? Do I need a gallon of clear and primer?

Nice! Post some photos when it gets done. I'll love to see this color fresh painted.

Here are some progress pics as well as the finished product. I only paid 450 to get it sprayed. Paid 850 for the paint and supplies.

It's not perfect. There are definitely imperfections. Most of the imperfections are due to bad prep work. The spoiler holes I filled were not perfectly even. It felt smooth to me. Let me know what you think.
