Are you sure you have to put the egr and evap back on? Most inspectors won't visually notice it, and the car can pass the emissions test without them.

Not sure at all actually. No visual inspection. Just requires OBD II readiness. If there is a CEL, they tell you to go pound sand.

If I disable Evap/EGR/MDP Im not sure if it will take the test. If i enable, I get CEL. I tried years ago without doing anything, basically drove in how my car is now and the state system wouldn't even hookup at all. "No communication" was printed on what they gave me and I was given no credit for the test, as if I never went.

But that was also with Catalyst/Oxygen sensor/ Oxygen Sensor Heater/ EGR System Incomplete.

If you know anything about this stuff by all means fire away!

For now I plan to do what I have to do in order to Enable all DTC Checks and have all OBDII Complete with no CEL after driving 100 miles.

Just to be clear, there is no visual and no sniff test.......they just plug into obdII port and run their program. if they see a check engine light, they wont plug in, and tell you to get it fixed.

11/25/19 EDIT: Looks like the reason I got the "No communication" was because of a box I had checked in ECMlink. "Lock comm in ECMlink mode" was checked under the Misc tab. Went for the test a couple days ago after slapping all the emissions stuff in and ended up with the same "No communication". I most likely checked the box after reading somewhere that it would increase logging speed....which it can. I had completely forgot about having checked it, and was guided toward the solution by someone who was clever and experienced enough to point it out.

What's this? You've bought a Talon?
What’s the game plan for this guy?

Yeah grabbed this up for parts. The rockers where gone and the strut towers had windows. All the driveline parts where good, along with a ton of other neat crap though. I brought it in and tore the whole thing down over a 48 hour period. I had the local yard haul it away when I was done with it.

The final images are rather brutal:

Are you just stripping and scrapping these? Most of them look to be in better shape than my current JSB.

Not at all- Ive got to post some more pics to better illustrate what Ive been up to. Some of these cars where absolutely worth the effort and are now running driving cars. A couple of them where well beyond economic repair.

-Magenta Grey is now very nice complete car
-Maroon is the cleanest shell I own- zero rust on any part of it
-Red was stored indoors its entire life- roof drip/belt moldings are like new- needs some work but i will get to it

Any little piece of any of these cars is being used, stored, or distributed to those who need.......... nothing is going to scrap unless it is 100% useless to us all and nobody wants it.

plenty more to come

-Black with the smashed out windshield was a rescue scenario- a car I sold over a year ago (after owning it for 15 years) to a heathen who trashed it- got it back for 20% of what I sold it for, put a new windshield and lots more and its now a nice GSX
