Damm bro. From the outside looks like you got a steal of a deal.
I hope you get it home and the car is just as good as it looks. Actually I hope u jump start it and drive it home. Rofl

No I loaded her up on a trailer. Got her home and found a bad timing belt. Bought a kit for it. While tearing down to install noticed she’s bleeding all over the place. So my sons and I decided to pull the motor and start from there. Going to take the head down Monday have it checked out. Then back together she’ll go.

Engine bay pics?

I’m in southern Oregon. So we don’t have inspections for registration. Just a vin number LOL
In that case, delete the evap. It's a pretty large system with components running from the front of the car to the back. It doesn't use that much power, but it's ugly and heavy as shit.

What are your goals for the car? Are you looking to have a daily? Or a track monster? What you can get away with deleting also depends on your goals. For a driver car I'd say just clean it up and tuck it a little bit. But if you're looking to race or hit the track, then a larger portion of that crap can be ripped out.

I got the motor tore down. Number 3 is fried. Other cylinders slightly scorn. Crankshaft seems good. Head needs machined also. Valves not closing all the way. Probably going to need new lifters.

Any suggestions on what rods and Pistons to get. I’ve been looking at Manleys. What’s your opinion. Keep in mind I want it to be a cruiser

Mahle pistons, they use a different alloy. The pistons don't expand as much so you can run tighter piston to wall clearances which is better for a street car, but they're still a forged piston that's stronger than the OEM's and lighter weight than most all the other forgings that use the other more malleable alloy. Sooo they're lighter and expand less than other forged offerings and are stronger than OEM cast pistons.
