eric is the man LOL yea its a pre bent cage but honestly had i known then what i do now i wouldve just had one bent up for the car by him instead of a prebent unit. i will still be able to put the back seats back in there so itll be able to do some street car classes.

IIRC I paid $4-500 for a pre-bent chromoly cage and about $2-300 for install, for my 2g. Is that about what you paid for the cage? And what would Eric charge for the cage? Not installing a cage again any time soon, but my end goal is high 10's, and want to know the going price.

well the prebent i got was chromoly. it was about $875 to the door with the rear seat bars. had issues that the company wouldnt take care of so had another $150 in re making some things. and labor now to do a 10 pt chromoly is about $1000. im guessing because im also doing a chute mount with mine so its a little higher as well.

Ah I see. Mine was 6 point and no chute of course so that’s prob the difference. I got away with murder on the install. It was a friend of a guy I was working with so maybe he hooked it up.

yea mines a little more labor intensive being a 10 pt and doing the chute stuff LOL. im overly happy with the progress hes made in 2 days.

you might shoot him a message on fb and get a quote from him. im sure he can get you taken care of and youll know its all done right.

should have some updates this week on the cage progress. talked to eric over the weekend and he told me he should have the cage pretty much whipped this week.

no pics yet but eric has started welding on the back half of the cage. plan is to get that welded, start fitting/ welding the front bars/door bars, then finally get the chute mount built and welded up.

small update pic.

a pillar bars are going in now.

update time:

pillar bars and windshield bar are done. all thats left for the cage is the door bars and gussets. then going to finally tackle the chute mount. originally we were doing to run it kind of high and tie it to the cage but we are rethinking that idea.

now for some progress pics. everyone likes those.

next is to cut the dash to fit, going to have to heat the door panels to try to form them to fit the door bars better, get the chute and all its stuff installed, then re assemble the interior pieces back in.

Came out nice man. I like that swing out so much nicer/modern than the one I had.
thanks tony! yea it came out alot better than i expected. if i could go back i wouldve had him bend the cage to the car but he made it work well with what i had given him. i fit well too so that was a big plus for me.

did a little tinkering this morning on the car

also got the hole drilled in the back where the cable is going to go through. it will come through the bottom bolt hole on the passenger side of the license plate.

realized that the chute mount kit i got didnt have the bolts to bolt the cable mount on so stopped here LOL. going to get some nice bolts to use. i need to pick a body saw up so i can get things ready to cut the dash and get it put in. then its downhill from there.
