Wow... this is a lot of emissions crap. If I had to guess I'd say that this is 20 pounds worth... i used some sheet metal to cut and drill an evap blockoff plate that I put on the port on top of the gas tank to keep it from leaking. And just simply capped off the little port at the throttle body. Take a look at all this trash.

Both you boys quit fighting. Can't you get along? Just wait til your dad gets home!!!!
Your both getting PM's now!!!

Nice progress man! The car is looking good. How was the fitment of your catback? Did everything line up and seal well?
Thanks man.

It fit really well. And it has no leaks. It lines up perfectly with the stock exhaust hangers.

I'm having an interesting time trying to port the plenum. I broke a bit, and damn the mess I have clean up. And then I have to figure out what to use for bolts to hold on the TB. The stock bolts are way too long, and if I use spacers they will interfere with the intake piping. I tried a shorter bolt but the head sits so close to the TB that I can't even get a socket on it... Updates coming soon.

Hey dude .. Love your build . Could you or would you please get a sound clip of your cat back system . Would like to hear what it sounds like . I was told that they sound to ricer or maybe it depends on which system you buy . I like the stock drown tone , kind of a deep narly sound . The sound I`m going for is

I will do that this evening. I tried getting someone else to take a video of it, but they didn't do such a great job LOL. It's only slightly louder than stock. It just has more of a growl to it. It's not really poppy like the ricer crap.

When I was running a Jeep throttle body I picked up Allen head bolts from a hardware store and they worked out perfectly. M8 1.25 pitch x 25mm is the size I used. In case you haven’t seen these how-tos yet, here are the links to the two 2gnt posts about the Jeep TB on a 420a.

I bought one that was already modified. All I have to do is the porting of the IM and the installing. Thank you for the links though.

I had to piece together a custom cold air intake because the stock piping would not fit on the larger throttle body. And of course, I had to put a micro filter for the VC breather. I finished up the porting on the IM and got everything installed.

That's pretty much what I did to. How does she run now?
For some reason there is still idle surging. It surges between 1100 and 1500. I put a new tps on it and it didn't help. I adjusted the IAC to idle down and it helped a little but it still wants to surge. I'm not really sure what's going on.

Does it surge when sitting still? The ECU does idle the car up while it's coasting, but when it's stopped it should bring it back down to about 800rpm.
