Would a clogged fuel filter cause my 2g to sputter then die but start up & run fine 15 min later?

Also, what makes you think it's a fuel problem? Why not spark?
Sorry for the delayed response. After stalling, mostly on the freeway, it starts then dies immediately as if it's out of gas. It will however keep starting & dying. After it sits a while it will start & run ok again. Could it be the crank sensor giving a faulty temp reading?

The crank sensor does not read the temperature, it reads the position of the crankshaft and sends that data to the ecu so the engine will run properly. I doubt it's the CAS, because sitting for a while would not have an effect on it.

Does it ever run hot? Or does your temp gauge even work?

I noticed the cable coming from the negative battery terminal to the firewall was frayed and had a 180 degree bend. I replaced that and it hasn't given me any problems since. A simple $7 solution. Thank you for your help.
