Oil is leaking from my lower intake manifold gasket. 100% for sure. It it not the VC gasket. It is the lower intake manifold gasket.

Oil is pooled up inside the intake part of the heads, so I can't tell if this is bad valve stem seal or if this is the pcv valve allowing the intake to drink oil. So much oils pools in there that it leaks out from the gasket and soaks the whole bottom half of my engine.

This would explain and answer my question about a weird exhaust smell. It would also explain crappy low end power.

Any thoughts as to where the oil might be coming from? Or why there is so much of it?

I’d guess it’s coming from pcv valve.
That was my first assumption, but the hoses seem dry and the pcv port in the manifold is only slightly wet.

Is there any way that oil could get in the egr system? The egr pipe seems wet with oil, and the right side of the manifold sees more oil than the left (egr is on right).

Someone correct me if I’m wrong. The port runs from the exhaust runner along the p/s head to the intake manifold so unless you’re burning a ton of oil, I don’t see where oil would enter.

420a, so p/s is on the passenger side

Ah fudge. My bad
LOL everybody thinks I have the 4g63. Not yet!

I doubt it's the valve stem seals, all the valves look dry, and the cylinders are dry.

Doing a first start up tonight and I will see how quick it gets wet and where.
