Anyone in the St. Petersburg, Florida area know a bit about DSM’s? Or close by? I need to do a timing belt on my car. I know I can do it but it gives me nightmares honestly. Lmk! Thanks

If I lived closer to you I would definitely help you. If you are that worried that something might go wrong then I would just take it to a mechanic shop. I don't think that it's that bad replacing the timing belt and components. If you have the tools, time and knowledge I would just go for it.

First time is often scary but it's much easier than it seems up front.
Afterward you wonder what you were all wound up about. That said having someone to look over your shoulder is a great idea. Maybe this will have more responses moved to the regional forum...

Exactly thanks

I live not far from you actually: I'm pretty sure I've seen your car in your driveway. Off 16th street? I'm super busy for the next week or two, but I could likely help you after. PM me.
Yes I’m off 16th. I probably won’t be doing it for another couple weeks so sounds good.

Do you have the timing belt tools? Vfaq.com is a good place to start looking at.

YouTube also has videos. Its easy, but time consuming. It took me a couple tries with the motor even out the car. As long as the grenade pin slides in and out, you're good.

All day job if you've never removed the accessory components like alt, P/S and A/C. I'd get new belts all around. Their cheap from Rockauto

Also, if your oil filter housing is leaking, now is a good time to replace. Water pump as well if you don't know how old it is. I keep them as a spare LOL

All that was done about 20k miles ago I have all the tools besides the special tools. I know how it’s done, I just have to get the balls to do it, let alone the time.
