So I went to Gridlife Atlanta a few weeks ago with my dad. I haven’t really been into cars for the last 8 or so years because of work and family. First car I did any modding to was a 96 firebird formula. Was a very fun car. Then In ‘04 I went to Nopi Nationals at Atlanta motor speedway and saw the power they were getting out of these 4 cyl engines and got hooked. Sold the firebird got an accord and did a bunch of work to it. Ended up selling it when I went in the coast guard and haven’t done anything since. I do have plenty of knowledge and experience with building engines. I was a machinery tech, so I’ve tore apart and rebuilt engine the size of my house. So anyways it took about 1 hour for me to get the itch to get a project when I was at gridlife. Started thinking of a good car to use for time attacks and things of that nature. When the ole GSX came to mind. I’m going to be on a tight budget for the first 4 months of the build, but after that will be able to spend the money needed. I figured that gives me time to tear the engine down, and prep the body. So after about of month of searching I came across a 96 GSX with a 6-bolt out of a 92 talon. Bought it for $1200, paying $800 to get it here. Was awesome to find the forum, already learned a ton just by reading different threads. Looking forward to talking to some of you guys. Let the fun begin, well hopefully in a week or so.
