hi i am building a car built for 800whp+ DSM/CRX this winter with some friends and people i know from different auto business. welders/fab, car audio/interior builder/full car mil-spec and auto body/painter. i design everything and build
engines. I'm thinking of buying a 2g AWD manual DSM 5 speed that is good for 800awhp. what to look for and buy.
i want to be able to beat on the car with giving it fuel/air. blowing the car sideways and stuff like that.
do i need PPG gear sets. what i need for Bearing and who makes them. if there racing forks what to buy.
im using a DSM/EVO rear end and custom the drive shaft shop axles and driveshafts, they offer custom made stuff.

You really need a dogbox or a built auto, that or full Liberty, if you want to thrash it and have it last.

Yup on the PPG or built auto, I've seen too many liberty gearsets trashed in very short order to suggest them.

All the "stage" 5 speed builds are just a mix of oem gears with higher preloads and some detailing, none will last at that power. If it doesn't have a PPG gearset, don't bother.

Just so it's full disclosure, you won't be street driving a PPG either without giving it a teardown and refresh far more often, but it will hold power better than any of the stage built transmissions due to the straight-cut, aftermarket gears. You also aren't going to be granny shifting it, you have to full out shift it constantly.

does any know if boostin performance build trannys? or should i get all the parts and build it myself?
I'm just thinking if i do it my self ill miss some parts that are not to be OEM and it will blow up

Jacks Transmission and a few others build them or sell parts and an upgrade path, not so sure about Devin.

boostin has tranny parts that other don't have and TMZ has a c diff that good for 1000hp

I guess I need to buy a 8000$ tranny but all I see is missing parts in ther parts listed websites tmz should update there lists

Go automatic... That is your best bet to keep it all together. Or lower your power goals? Am I reading this correctly? DSM/CRX? You will probably come in under 2200 lbs... 800 hp will be damn difficult to use effectively. What do you plan to use the car for? I am excited to see it, sounds BA.

yes you read it correct, I'm building a DSM powered Honda CRX for fun and it will be tube subframes and suspension custom made. JRZ 6000$ Coil Overs and bunch other mods. I'm also going to by a GSX so people do think I'm ass for the CRX thing and i love DSM AND Honda. i also miss having a GSX.

i asked boston if they build trannys and they told me that they get them built out of house so i asked for a quote for PPG AWD Tranny. i should of asked for a clutch price too, but i didn't. i want a quarter master 8 lug triple plate from a EVO 8-9 for the input shaft of tranny em i correct?

You need to machine the bell-housing due to the larger diameter 23 spline input shaft, which means you need a EVO 23 spline clutch disc/DSM flywheel and PP to use the PPG dogbox. Also if you decide to go with the PPG, probably you wouldn't want to use a single disc clutch, stock output shaft, DSM 3-4 shift rail and stock DSM 1-2 shift fork (The PPG gear set includes a billet 3-4 fork only).
So if you are planning to upgrade the parts mentioned above and an upgraded center diff and a front LSD, you should expect about $10,000+ in total.
Before I decided to go with auto swap but I still wanted to shift, so changed my mind and went with the PPG dogbox. I like it. If you break a built transmission with OEM parts and build another one would cost more or less as much as a PPG dogbox.

I'm going with TMZ Stage 6 transmission and boostin Stage 4 Transfer Case and 3KGT Rear End with KAAZ REAR Diff.

I'm building the 6Bolt engine myself sines I'm a engine builder. LOL.
next I'm the box I'm going to build a car with 6Bolt billet AWD and see how much power i can make

Have I been in contact with you?? I dont recall having a conversation regarding a CRX 4g63 awd swap customer.

Thanks,

TMZ performance

no but i had have got the price from your website and i called you ones or twice, but know body picked up the phone. no answer by phone. i have a 91 CRX, 99 GSX and 2000 em1

all getting 6Bolt 4G63T AWD powertrain and they are all going to be around 800-1000AWHP.
so can i get some deals since i em going to buy a lot of the same parts that a transmission cost
$12245.00 USD built to race spec. and 1800$ clutch's and can you rebuild 3kgt VR4 rear diff housings with
Kaaz diff? i would be grateful if you do it for my cars. boostin performance ha good T cases that i want to
get my hands on soon too, good setup they and magnus have now. i just waiting for some on to build a better end case output bigger 300m spline.
i need good prices.

Well, I am a one-man-show; my voicemail says to email me directly. I don't pick up the phone regularly because I have a business to run and I can't build transmissions if I am talking on the phone all day. My email is [email protected].

As for pricing, my prices are my prices. I can work with some stuff a little, but this is how I support my family man.

Transmission wise, you would need to ship over a core good transmission to do the work on, then the cost of the PPG gearset, Boostin billet bearing plate, Boostin 300m output shaft, and likely a Quaife front LSD differential (or Kaaz front diff).

Tcase wise, you would need to send a good 23-spline core transfer case to have converted to a 300m output shaft. I would recommend a Boostin billet mid housing, and ideally a Frontline Fab tcase brace with it.

Rear diff, you will need to plug (freeze plug or a billet 0-ring plug) the power steering pump hole and then do the diff install with new bearings and seals and re-shim.

Clutch, you won't need a triple disk. I can do all the same with a twin disk with zero issues to handle your power levels. I can do it as a Quarter Master 6-leg twin or an 8-leg twin with either street or race friction disks (likely the heavy flywheel with a higher capacity clutch cover diaphragm spring and street friction disks).

If you want further information, price estimates, etc. Just email me in detail.

Thanks,

Tim Zimmer
