So I figured this was a long shot considering how few and far between DSMs are these days but anyway...

I'll be taking a trip to the tail of the dragon with some friends Tuesday October 29th. I plan on driving my Talon up from Rowan County, NC along with another local guy in his GSX. There's a couple other cars going with us so far, nothing crazy yet, and we're the only DSMs so far. Thought it would be pretty cool to find some other DSMs to ride up with, or meet along the way. But anything with wheels is welcome to join us.

For those of you who don't know, the tail of the dragon is an 11 mile section of US Hwy 129 with 318 curves. It's located in the Smokey mountains outside Deal's Gap, NC on the TN/NC border. There are tons of other scenic roads in the area, this particular section is the most well known. Lots of lodges, resorts, cabin rentals etc in the area as well. You can find out more about it here. https://tailofthedragon.com/

Please let me know if any of you can make it! Thanks!

Not my photo.

If not for the 13 hour drive, I would join you.

Well worth a 13 hour drive. Lol

I may join you guys. Hopefully I'll have my car complete, tuned and coilovers dialed in by then.

We've got two whole months to go, I've got lots to get done on my car before then as well. Hope you can make it!

I know but there's a lot to do. I'm still waiting on parts that should be here this week. Mock up turbo, get charge pipe welded, ceramic coat mani (local guy told me 2 weeks :ohdamn:), alignment (after coilovers), and tune. I should be done but you never know. Just don't want to rush things:D. I will def try and make it. Heard Tennessee is a great vacation spot and I think it's only 4-5 hours from where I am.

I know the feeling, I just cut a strut tower out a couple weeks ago. Got it all back in but I still have to repaint the engine bay and put basically the whole car back together.

We have a run here called Blood Mountain between Cleveland and Blairsville that bikers love to ride. Not really a good car route though just because of all the bikes and other cars.

Sounds a lot like this place. It gets crazy busy on the weekends which is why we're going on a Tuesday.

My father and I did this years ago in his turbo NA Miata, and I have been wanting to get my Eclipse out there. Hoping my wife and I take a road trip one of these summers and do it. Wish I could join, but if anyone else is on the fence I highly enjoy making the journey. It will be worth it.
