I noticed this plastic (nylon?) Fastener was literally hanging by a thread in my passenger side front wheel well. This was used to attach the fender liner to the car, there were two of them, but unfortunately the other one is missing on my car. Anyway, the one I do have slides in and out of the mounting holes with minimal effort and no tools, so either it's the wrong fastener, or the mounting holes were enlarged?

If it's the wrong fastener, does anybody know the part number or dimensions of the correct one?

I'm planning to replace the liner soon. Thanks!

Sorry for the poor quality pictures..

You'd be surprised what fasteners hardware stores have in their hardware aisle. We've picked up many types of fasteners there over the years.

They are usually a screw in type of fastener. The screw goes in and out and when it screws in it pushes arms outwards keeping the fastener and everything else in place. Kind of like how a rivet works but in the opposite direction. You just need a hole size and you can probably pick them up at a hardware store like Pep-Boys or even in Lowe's. I cant find an exact picture of what they look like but I'll see if I have one on my car that I can snap a picture of.

The fender liner uses these types of plastic fasteners. You may have luck at your local auto parts stores or amazon.

Yeah those are them, I got a little sidetracked finding an air leak and fixing it. EGR blockoff got bent and wasnt sealing properly with the gasket letting air in. Oh, and the mosquitoes. Those things need to be eradicated.

Im pretty sure they have them at Lowe's or Home Depot. They have an automotive section in their hardware area that carry plastic fasteners like those.
