The car is officially ready for the dyno! Been doing some low boost street pulls and everything is functioning properly and pulling good! Shooting for this Saturday morning to hop on the dyno and see what happens. Unfortunately, I will run out of fuel pump. The two Bosch 044 just aren't going to cut it. I have a few different options but am leaning towards a swirl pot with 2 or 3 450's. The other option is the Magnafuel 750 - however I am not liking this option as they often need rebuilt and are meant for "racing only". Their website shows that you should not run this pump for longer than 30-45 minutes at a time...that's not going to work for me. A local buddy has the Radium surge tank that I will get installed before The Shootout so I can really turn this thing up then!!

Enjoy a picture of a beer run!

youre looking at the prostar 750. the protuner 750 (mp-4303) is the street pump.

I really dont want to do the surge tank, however, I'm getting a really good deal on it. I would much rather have one single fuel pump to worry about than three.

@b00stedtalon2 curious as well if you are running the pump controller ?

Nope, no pump controller or anything like that.

First track outing!! First pass off the trailer the timing was turned down for 'street mode'. 1.7 60' blehh, spun haard, and it net me a new PB ET and MPH! 10.06 (freaking seriously) at 153 mph! This was at a measly 12* of timing and 50 psi on the 6466 and it picked up 42 mph on the big end! So, I was sure that adding the timing back into it it was going to go a 9 anything if I could just get down the track. By now its 9:30 due to a someone hitting the wall(they were ok the car was not sadly) cleanup took over an hour. The second pass was a 1.6 60' still spinning bad aaaand the stock trans life struck again and locked me out of second gear. got back in it and went 10.7 at 147. The car didn't feel right in 4th after looking at the logs the rpm is jumping up randomly around 6600 and 7400 rpm in 2,3,4 gear. I am going to swap out the CAS and get another log to see what happens. We'll get em next time boys.. Or maybe I'm just meant to run the first 9 at the shootout? who knows..

heres the 10.06 at 153

and the 10.7 at 147

I'll take it for the first time down the track since last October with a whole new setup! Once I get more seat time this year I'll remember how to launch this thing good again haha

Killer MPH man. I wonder why the car is having issues hooking. Are you using boost by gear? Is the center diff welded? How low are you dropping the tire pressure?

It sounds like you shifted way too early in the 10.0 run. I would have rode out first gear until it regained traction.

I did shift WAY too early in every gear, for the last 11 years I've had a stroker and only revved it out to 8000 max, so I'm still used to that haha! This 2.0 life is going to take some getting used to. No boost by gear, welded center diff and 18 psi tire pressure. It was just a lot of mistakes on my end but like I said, first time out since last October. I need to get myself dialed back in in the driver seat. There is a lot of room for improvement here!

Yeah, definitely sounded like the RPM was pretty low. You lost all your boost in the 1-2.

I would start at 13PSI in the tires next time out then check them after each run to make sure they don't go higher. 18 is what I run for street driving and would NEVER work for a good 60' at the track. They probably don't even wrinkle with that much air LOL. Also make sure to stay in 1st gear until you feel the car regain traction.

I bet those two things give you a solid 9 second pass off the trailer next time.

FINALLY, a staging brake! I can't wait to get this installed! I made some changes to the interior last night, moved some things around so I can mount this in. Ill get some installed pictures ASAP!

A friend of mine puts on a big car show every year so Mike and I decided to cruise up to it - it was pretty sweet there was probably 100+ cars. This year they did a "parachute alley" where everyone with a chute parked next to each other LOL
Also, finally got my KSR decals on and im diggin the new look !

Cruising to the show, it was about 25 min drive from my house and the car performed flawlessly!

Just realized I never posted the dyno results!

Mustang Dyno
767 hp 615 tq at 47 psi and 14* of timing!

Here are a few videos from the pulls:

So, the car is almost 100% ready for the shootout. I ordered new 5 point harnesses today so I will get that installed Monday. All that is left is to put the new water pipe on and start packing for The Shootout! I guess you could say my shootout scramble this year is the trailer. I started this project to remodel the trailer on the exterior - its actually turning out waaay better than I expected. This is Rustoleum oil based paint cut with mineral spirits and am rolling it on LOOL. So once all the white is finished I will be painting the trim all black, should look sweeet!

One more coat of paint on the left side and it will be done, 2 more on the front and rear and its onto starting the black trim!

SEE YOU ALL AT THE SHOOTOUT!!!

Been watching this build, love it!. Keeps me motivated. Thanks for the updates.

INCOMING EPIC NEWS! What an awesome weekend at the dsm shootout. I Decided to hop into the 9.5 index class. Friday night qualifying in the staging lanes we found a small water leak so I had to pull the swirl pot out and get it welded, didn't get it back until about 2am Friday night LOL. Saturday morning I wanted to make a test n tune pass and it went freaking 9.8 at 154!! WOOO!!! Made another pass for the 2nd round of qualifying for the 9.5 index and it spun pretty good then bogged 2ng gear and went 10.0 at 154. After this pass the swirl pot cap was loose and i chucked it up to be maybe I forgot to tighten it( I know I tightened it). Added water and sent it for the first round of eliminations I was up against an auto 1g that was going consistent mid 9's..uh oh! Thank god he slept on the tree and there was no catching me, this thing went 10.2(bogged real bad LOL the track was now sticky) at 160 FREAKING MPH!! After this pass the alternator belt frayed a little bit. So I took myself out of the class and waiting to get a belt until Sunday morning. Sunday comes around and I wanted to make another test n tune pass. We turned the car up to see what it would do and it did not disappoint! 9.62 at 156! YEEEE. On the shutdown I could hear something that was rpm dependent...So I shut it down and hooked a ride with a friend back up to the pits. Radiator (swirl pot) cap was no where to be found and the noise I was hearing was a giant hole in the head that went right to the t stat housing. Regardless, I had such a great weekend, achieved goals I've had set for a long time now and got to see all my dsm buddies! I'll get it fixed up and back soon! For now, enjoy a crap ton of pictures and videos!

Proud to say I didn't lose a single race this weekend haha ( let the back halfing commence) This was the 10.0 at 154 pass that initially blew the head gasket.
