So I was looking at getting camshafts and I’m not sure which one I should go with for my build. The 272/272 has a 11 mm lift and the 276/272 has a 12.5 mm - 12 mm lift. Do I really need the extra lift and what are the benefits of each cam.

Also I narrowed it down to these two, but I’m still open to other options.
Thanks in advance.

Unless your running something with bigger than a 64ish mm compressor and planning on turning 10k on the regular, the 272 are probably too big.
I’m most likely going to run a 6466 and I want to rev to about 9k. Do you think that will still be to big for this setup?

I have used the both set. It would be depending on your goal, setup and preference. Those two set's characters are totally different. The 272 is good for 500-600hp, the 276HL would suffice for 700-800hp. The 272 is well known and common as all‐round. You can find a lot of infos about the 272, so probably no need to explain. 276HL is a bit more peaky on a 2.0L engine, maybe better with a stroker engine. But would give you good power after 6000rpm.
In case if you decide to go with the 276HL, just be careful with the piston to valve clearance. and many of aftermarket springs don't support 12.5mm lift. Kelford springs, Kiggly high pressure springs or kiggly race only springs support 12.5mm lift. Other than those, you may have to shim or/and move the valve guide down in order to gain clearance between the bottom of the retainer and the top of the valve seal.

Thanks for the information, I was having a bit of trouble finding info about the 276. I’m most likely going to go with the 272 now because I don’t think the Manley springs I have will support it and I don’t want the power band to be to late in the rpms. But do you think that it’s still possible that the 272 could make to around 650 - 700hp?

It very depends on type of gas and tuning. Generally speaking and to be realistic, 700 would be difficult if with low oct pump gas.
