Maybe you can give me an opinion about a couple things. Rear differential upgrade / rebuild, and some kind of upgraded rear axles.
Have you ever felt the need for those 2 items? I get some booming sound on trailing throttle - trailing off from cruise at 40-50 mph speeds. Does that mean rear diff shims or bearings or something like that?
I upgraded the Galant with a DSM 4 bolt rear end. The stock 4 bolt axles are pretty stout, and should hold up well under 500whp. My drivetrain isn't terribly quiet with the aluminum driveshaft and welded differential, but I've inspected everything at length to ensure there's not an actual problem. If I were you, I'd do the same. From experience, I've found that sometimes the drivetrain noise is just a byproduct of a modified car. You can add bushings, check your driveline angles and do some other odds and ends to quiet it down, but I've never successfully gotten rid of the noise completely. For example, my car loves to get the wub wubs just slightly off-throttle on decel around 70mph. I gave up caring about fixing it after spending hours under the car and doing unsuccessful road tests. The shit doesn't break, so I'm just going to send it until something rears its head. So far, after thousands of miles (many of them not nice) the car hasn't had any issues.
Come to think of it, the only DSM I've ever been in that had a quiet driveline was my 90' GST
