This post is nothing more than showing how the factory gull-wing doors open.
Some factory gull-wing 1g Eclipse still exist in Japan. I am sure that most of people have heard about it but most of people have never seen it in action.
Here is the video. (The video is taken from a Japanese TV show.)

There's still some interesting ones, but they're all one off concept cars, vs a production car with a concept addition on them.

Always wanted something gullwing tho, I just don't have the heart to cut up a car I'd actually want them on to try it, haha.

WAY back in the day, I looked at a Lambo....because it had gull wing doors and thought they were cool.....HUGE tires all the way around and those doors. Was interesting to see.

I've always wanted the targa top DSM LOL no idea where they ended up though

Gonna assume in Europe due to the Orange tails and adjustable pop up headlights and the side markers on the fender

Lambs had gullwing? Always thought they had lambo doors LOL,

Mercs were gullwing kings but itsnot my cup of tea really, i much prefer raptor doors, engineers dream, practical, useful

Awesome find! The gullwing 1G and gullwing starion were made by Mitsubishi for a japanese police tv show called GORILLA.

It is approximated that only a handful exist anymore in Japan. Mitsubishi made a brochure for the eclipse with the gullwing version on the cover back in 1990.

Right, I was watching the TV series every week.
The brochure came back in '89. This was planned by Mitsubishi motors japan with the entertainment agency of that TV series. Manufactured by Mitsubishi motors japan with Mitsubishi automotive logistics technology which is one of divisions of Mitsubishi who build only special purpose vehicles. but sadly only 10 people had ordered this model. (Mitsubishi Japan didn't consider that most of people in Japan don't have such a space that they can park the gull-wing car!! We even need to fold side mirrors when we park the car!) And Two more were made for the TV series. So in total only 12 were manufactured. Some people say 15, 16 or 20, but 12 is correct I believe. The one in the video is kept by a shop in Tokyo and always in their show room (they also have the gull-wing Starion, the GVR4 and a gull-wing Nissan 280z that were in the TV series), so if you happen to go to Japan, should visit them and take some pics.
I was told that another shop and a private collector has one, too. So at least three still exist, I guess.

Great info!!
Ohh trust me it is on my bucket list to go to Japan again and hunt down this car. I would pay stupid money to have it my Mitsu collection! This gullwing eclipse, Fittipaldi talon, and an Archer Bros Talon are definitely the holy grails haha
