Hey, anyone happen to know the individual offsets for the stock Evo 8, 9 and MR wheels?

Also, I know the Evo 8 Enkei's fit fine on our cars but what about the 9 & MR wheels?

Thanks!

the evo 8 enkei's are 17x8 with a +38mm offset

I dunno about the mr's but I've seen a 2g with evo8 mr wheels on it before, so it is possible. My guess is that since the hub and suspension is the same on the mr as it is on the base model, the offset will be similar to the enkei's.

sweet =]. that means we can look on their forums for wheels too. they seem a lot more intrigued by wheels than dsmers and have a much more active market.

... or maybe they're just richer :coy:

I think you're stereotyping a bit there.

All Evo 8 and 9s are 17x8 38et. For the most part enkei 8 wheels go for $300-375 and 9s run $400-600. MR BBS are $900-1100 depending on condition. The stock Yoko's are the best OEM tire I have ever seen. Better than PS2, S03,... They add considerably to the price of wheels. Like new BBS with new rubber run $14-1600.

i dunno how much they go for where ever you live. But the local board here in SOCal has about EVO8 300-400, EVO9 425-500, and MR 550-650. These are for wheels only (or in some cases EVO8 with shot Advans)

how much do the bbs weigh? are the 9's lighter than the 8's? I think we should get all the weights and specs down:

evo 8 enkei's: 17x8 +38mm 17lbs
evo 8 bbs:
evo 9 enkei's:
evo 9 bbs:

And the BBS wheels weigh about 2.5# less than the Enkei wheels, which is still over 17.

Speaking of 17x8 wheel offsets, I'm thinking that with 235/45's, 38mm is further "out" than optimum. jtoby, how does 42 strike you? Or more? In other words, what would be ideal for the late 2G DSM's with that rubber?

Get +40, because you are going to change your mind and want 245/40/17 ... if not now, at some point.

well, I'll weigh mine, since I have to get a new one anyways.

I was told by the person I bought them from they are 17, and they seemed really light, so I went with it. My bad

Does anyone know the INSIDE diameter of the EVO8 Enkei's? I am planning to put CTV-V brakes on my 2G, and have seen that Evo8Enkei's fit the caliper. I have aftermarket 17" Drag DR43 wheels on my 2G and am worried about clearance issues with the Big brake CTV conversion.
Thanks in advance.

The diameters can be the same but it still does not mean it will fit. Design of the rim also has a lot to do with it mostly.

Hey I have the CTS-V conversion on my car. You will likely want to run 18" wheels and probably 8.5" width. the width is going to be the biggest thing, you can get away with 17" probably, but keep in mind the stock CTS-V wheel size is 18" x 8.5"

To give you options, all mustang rims fit our cars and the GT's run similar size brembos to the CTS-V. EVO X rims fit our cars and are 18" but they will run you in the $1000-1500 range for just the rims, more if they are black. If wheel gap is an issue for you my wheels stick 0.25" outside of the wheel well

I run 2013 shelby GT500 18" x 8.5" with 35mm offset. I can't seem to find my rims anymore in anything less than 19"... so they may actually be GT350's with GT500 hub caps

Sorry to hijack the thread for a second. Carry on-

Thank you. Very Helpful

Anyone know if the 3000gt brake upgrade will fit behind the evo mr wheels?
