There's a 1996 GS spyder at my local junkyard that I want the crank out of for a future 2.3 build.

Can I pull the crank from under the car? Any special tools required? I want to be prepared before I go. A specific tool/socket list would be awesome.

Nothing special needed but unless the transmission is already out. You’d have quite a bit of work just for the crank. Not worth it my opinion not really worth it.

A crank is only $36 from the junkyard. Worth it for me because I'm broke
If you'd quit doing awd burnouts tied to a pole, you'd have more money...:D :p ROFL

Are you trying to do a 7 bolt swap Eric? That is the wrong motor in that car and going backwards by most dsm standards.

You'll have to have the transmission removed, and if it's not, you're better off pulling the whole business out and removing the crank with the engine turned upside down on the ground after the trans gets separated.

I usually buy the whole motor, but in your case it makes sense to save yourself some rolling on the ground and get the whole thing yanked, then pull the crank out.

Btw, I feel the "broke" sentiment :thumb:
