So I was painting my side mirrors and I removed them by prying on the bottom with a screwdriver and hitting the little retention tab on the clip. However I can not for the life of me figure out how to re install them. I assume you have to somehow put the snap ring back on while the mirror is sitting on the housing for the motor, but there is no room to do so. Anyone know a trick to get these things back in?

Removing the glass is a no - no. My car has one stock mirror and one aftermarket mirror just because the glass broke. And as I'm painting the car I very carefully tape that glass up.

Hopefully someone can tell you how to replace it but as far as I know my mirror will be used for parts the moment I remove the glass.

Well Mitsubishi had to get it on there somehow so I'm sure I'll find a way LOL. Doesn't sound too promising though.

I don't doubt that you will find a way to do it, but the amount of time it takes is hardly worth it.
Good luck though.
