Hello everyone,
My buddy is selling me a t3t4e and I’m planing on buying it. I was wondering what support mods I would be needing. The mods I have already are a ARP head studs and bolts, FMIC, wastegate, BOV, Manifold w/ t3t4 turbo flange, 800cc injectors, and exhast. Am I still missing anything? Or am I good to go!

If it's not a name-brand T3/T04E, don't even bother. If it's a true Garrett turbo, you'll need (at least) this:

3" intake to turbo inlet
Fabricate a new turbo outlet pipe to the intercooler
5-bolt o2 housing (essentially custom fabricating a whole downpipe)
Aftermarket external wastegate with dump tube (don't use yours if it's ebay-level)
Better T3 manifold (those ebay T3/T4 manifolds are junk)
Oil feed & drain lines & fittings
Bigger fuel pump
Adjustable FPR
Tuning solution (ECMLink?)

I wouldn't even run a T3/T4 these days. There are better turbo options out now that have better spooling characteristic. What is your house power goals for the car and what are you planning to use it for?

My buddy (very reliable) is selling it to me for only 200 so it’s a steal. My goals for the moment are in the 400 range. I would like to run high psi as well.

Thank you for the awesome list, I’ll be sure to get on these parts right away!

What turbo is it? T3/T4 wont tell anybody much, it could be just about any size and the mods needed to support it will depend on the wheel sizes.

If the turbo is an eBay one, 200 is ridiculous. Before you buy, get us pics, measurements, build tags etc. Whatever you can provide, because currently it sounds like your "buddy" might be ripping you off because you're not as familiar with these things.

The list @Canadian_CD9A is pretty comprehensive, the most important part being a TUNING SOLUTION. Without this, all the mods you have, and all the future mods will have little to no value, nor anywhere near their full potential.

I looked over your profile. I consider just keeping the MHI E16G (if it's really a MHI E16G) for a street build & use the cash for other mods & maintenance. Really fun turbo for a street build as well as a DD.

Hello everyone,
My buddy is selling me a t3t4e and I’m planing on buying it.

There are so many different combinations of wheels and housings that make up a T3/T4 turbo, the number is rather difficult to compute. You can have a T3/T4 that spools like a 16G, or have it spool like a huge lag monster. All depends on the components. I would stay away from your buddies turbo, because it sounds like you don't have a clue what it actually is. You might be severely disappointed in its performance.

Going with something like an FP Green will actually save you money and perform better.

The FP Green definitely won't save him any money over an authentic T3/T4 50 trim. They aren't cheap. The Green's appeal is that it is basically a bolt on turbo. The Green will spool slightly quicker, but won't quite have the top end of of the T3/T4 unit. I had a Green many moons ago and I loved that thing. I ran 11.50's on 93 pump gas, on an OEM ECU and an AFC. The car was a lot of fun back then!

I will get pictures the next time i see him, but i can assure you he isn't ripping me off. He's my best friend and i've known him for like 7 years.

That's fair, I'd just consider all the aspects as well before diving in, there's alot of stuff that would need to change besides just the turbo.

I'm just leary of ppl, I've had two "best friends" of over 10 years totally hose me over a couple times, so I tend to not really trust anyone regardless of how long I've known them.

I’m sorry to hear that man, Thanks for expressing your concerns. I’ll be sure to keep them in mind!
