Lookin good Brady! I seriously threw my old fog light bezels and the moon shaped covers in the front bumper away a few years back haha

Thanks Mike.

I don't need the fog covers, I'm pretty sure I got the last brand new sets from JNZ a few years back, mine are perfect. But They won't be perfect forever!

If they are close to brand new yes
well they don't look like the ones in the pic all brand new and stuff. But they are both in one piece. They are gray looking and you can see the fading. I've never painted them but that's what I would do. But if you want 100% oem color then I understand.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah there are dozens available all over the internet but just looking for new/ close to new ones. Thanks though!

As far as oil leaks go I generally don't have a problem with them either and haven't rocked balance shafts in 10years. Surface prep is key and not over torque fasteners. I generally clean everything really well with a razor blade and then block it with 400 grit sandpaper on a flat block. Just enough for it to flatten out. Then rtv the corners. Also almost every seal is OEM I've used aftermarket gaskets in the past and they degrade. The OEM gasket is almost rock hard and a real bi*** to remove especially on the front cover.

Yo

Well I haven't been touching my eclipse but I have been working on my friend Jeremy's.

Jeremy has had this car for a long ass time and wanted it to get some much needed TLC.

It really hadn't been touched in years as far as upgrades/ maintenance so he found me on IG and I told him I could help him out with everything no problem.

So I brought the car over to my garage and got to work tearing it apart and fixing things, finding new things to fix etc. There was a lot of shoddy work.

28428326208_9eb8151fc5_o.jpg

The car was running a 7 bolt, I believe it is built, not really sure.

Mods:

-Garrett turbo
-3" IC/piping
-2150's on E85
-Baer brake kit up front
-Greddy profec B
-Tial BOV
-Exhaust
-Link

etc etc.

31694557098_c42a7129ec_o.jpg

Notice he was running 34lbs through a 3" IC/piping and then knecking down to the stock TB/elbow/Intake manifold.

The car was also on 6an feed, pumping e85 to 2150's.

It pulled like hell but it just needed a lot of updating. I did full timing/water pump etc etc as well as performance upgrades/paint.

On to the pics!

None of the gauges were hooked up, the profec B was also not even powered up, the wire was ran though a hole in the firewall with no protection, so it cut through pretty quick I assume.

This is what under the dash looked like when I cut a couple zipties holding it all up....

I also relocated the battery to where the rear seats used to be, he has a rear seat delete panel, very nice one actually.

Then I got to work on painting the bay!

I sanded all the scratches and deep chips down, then used a scuff pad on the whole thing and sprayed with automotivetouchup.com paint! I love this stuff.

The car was on stock clutch line so I swapped that out as well.

44842092874_0c8b072422_o.jpg

The AFPR that was on it was super old... like didn't even adjust any pressure old. It was shot, and huge. So I swapped in a new compact aeromotive unit and made a nice little bracket for it.

44842092514_d1bf0070b9_o.jpg

Thats about it! I'm going to do all fluids and stuff as well. Also fixing the rattling windows, he didn't even have the little rail attachment things for the window that usually rattle, those weren't even in the doors LOL

Peace!

Soooo I got around to installing a new MAP sensor. I'm extremely confused.. I swear I set the car up on a 3 BAR sensor from OMNI power. Well I had a 4 BAR sensor laying around and threw that on and the car runs a million times better.

With the 3 BAR the car was running pig rich, 10.00 AFR whenever 75% throttle or so. Now the car holds 11.3 or so all the way through boost.

I'm clueless. Anyway, oil leak is getting worse.... sigh... Really frustrating!! I need to do that asap.

Anyway, here's a video of some pulls in broncos stadium.

Peace!

Thanks!!

Those look perfect! What are the specs?

Ugh yes they are a perfect fit if you're into actual proper fitment haha. I wish they were wider and more concave... But they do look legit af!!

specs are 17x8.5 +30. The +30 offset was almost a deal breaker. The spoke design above +30 offset is disgusting.. The spokes sit out further than the lip of the wheel.

These are pretty hard to find with the +30!

I got these for a steal. Like a really dumb steal...

I need to raise the car up about a half inch or so and fix the camber in the rear that I had to fit the larger stanceboi wheels.

Peace!

Sup dudes.

I took the Eclipse to Adam's Polishes open house/training day since it was super nice out here in Denver.

I want to raise the car up a bit, it rubs on all fours unfortunately.. I'm still kind of torn on the wheels still!

I also have almost wrapped up my friends build I've been doing. Its been long and tedious. But it came out awesome!

I feel like you're a minor celebrity over here, but I remember when you were just a newb over on 'Talk! They grow up so fast! TT_TT

:p But in all seriousness, it looks super clean. I want to take a vacation to Denver one of these days to visit family in the Littleton area, if I do I'll have to bug you to see it in person.

Also, good grief, can you tuck my engine bay next?! Looks amazing.

And finally, how do you like those hood struts? Do they last awhile? Is it hard to push the hood down? Over-all impressions?

Haha thanks dude! Yes I was a noob big time. I started in 09 when I was 16 on Talk. I loved that forum! It just died when Facebook came along. I log in over there and it says I don't even have permission to post anything. Oh well. This forum seems very alive and well!

And for sure! I'll come meet up with you when you are in town!

Tucking the bay is sooo easyyyy. Just start ripping shit out LOL.

I love the hood struts. I've had these for 5 years I think? Still open up quickly! Not hard at all to close!

Sup.

Not much has been going on with the eclipse, mine that is.

I picked up some OEM black floor mats. I used to have generic ones. I spent some time detailing the interior and looking for any clips or screws missing etc etc.

39802485663_6872791efa_o.jpg

I want to do something about the steering wheel. I unfortunately sold my evo with the evo 9 wheel I used to have in the eclipse.... I may look into painting this one, or anodizing it. I dont know yet.

I also want to get it re-wrapped in some alcantara or leather!

The car is still sitting in the garage. I went to start it up a couple of days ago and it leaked fuel everywhere. I replaced a section of the hard line with rubber a long time ago and I think its just time to do a full -6an setup from tank to rail! So thats on the to-buy list. As well as figuring what the hell to do about my leaky ass POS S90 TB. I have two brand new ones that leak so badly I can't stand the sound, unbearable....

31826279337_62cb21acf9_o.jpg

But even bigger news... I bought a house!!

45852688695_1489200e08_o.jpg

It will be done this summer. The garage is huge, so I will be putting in a 4 post lift so I can fit the jeep in there as well as my girlfriends car. Garage is almost 14' tall.

Can't wait to be moved into a garage and set it up how I like!

Peace!

Sup.

I went a did some minor things to my buddy Jeremy's car I've been working on. I think the old AEM Map sensor is going bad, car hesitates pretty bad, resembles my OMNI power map sensor going bad. So maybe we will swap that out.

Also the window track/motors etc are royally messed up. Like nothing lines up, windows rattle horribly etc etc. I attached the "guide" thing that usually falls off and it wont even roll up, just binds up. Needs some attention for sure.

Here are some pics!

And one of the 99 for good measure.

45852689575_1a1dcabdeb_o.jpg

I think I'm going to paint the rear deck lid black. Maybe dye it. Idk!

I'm still saving up for our new house that we will move into this summer so not really spending any money on the DSM!

Peace!

So I decided to get out in the garage on a 60 degree day here in Denver and get some stuff done.

First off I wanted to give my buddy who I've been building his car for the last year a little surprise and extra touch.

I personally am a huge fan of having an extinguisher on hand at all times, I have one in mine and figured my friend should have one too. I've seen far too many builds start on fire and ruin everything.
But I wanted to do something special since his interior is amazing. Color matched extinguisher!

I also dug into the S90 throttle body. These things LEAK. Plenty of reviews on them online about poor build quality. I actually took a new one apart and found they used s mall amount of RTV around the bearings since there are no seals on cable side. I said f*** it and loaded up the mating surfaces of the bearings/shaft with RTV. I don't want to hear a whistle at ALL.

46259420734_c6eb1cd442_o.jpg

We will see how it goes..

-Brady

Thats a great location for a fire extinguisher, and I love the OEM mats on your car. Where did you happen to come by a set of them?
Also, congrats on the house!!!

Thanks! The mats are actually available from a couple vendors online. They are still sold by MITSU. The black ones are called "dark grey".

Hey Brady, can you do me a favor and create a DSM Profile for this build so I can tie the thread to it? We're trying to make sure all build threads are tied to a DSM Profile on the site. Go here and you'll see a button to Create New DSM Profile:
https://www.dsmtuners.com/dsm-profiles/

Once you do that, PM me and I'll tie the profile to this thread. Thanks!

Yo!

So I've been looking to carbon hatches or an OEM one. Mine has some rust underneath and I can't stand it. BUT I knew I would be doing this and having a new one repainted so I bought an extra GSX decal a long time ago to use after I got a paint job.

Well I don't want to use the OEM one I have in original packaging, so I decided to have some reps made the RIGHT way.

Everything else currently available is not perfect, and mostly they are individually die-cut letters out of colored vinyl.

This is grey metallic printed on clear with the correct border to match OEM perfectly.

These are also UV resistant and will not yellow like other replica decals available.

40057024993_3b32e95a85_o.jpg

I have two brand new "MITSUBISHI" trunk decals and I will be remaking those as well. When I get my new trunk I will use the replica decals and keep the OEM ones un-touched.

Peace!
