Hello Everyone,

Firstly this not my Product but I have been in contact with this company who are willing to modify there setup to make a batch for our 7 Bolts so we can have a piece of the action also! and if it pans out I may be able to get them to start producing some other items for us also as time goes on,

Im just doing this thread as a way to get the interest and since they are not on here its my way of sorting this out as I approached them about doing this for us! im being the middle man helping to find new products for us.

the company is called Bulletproof racing and do Billet items for Evo's, facebook link here, https://www.facebook.com/bulletproofR/

The owner Alex is a nice guy to talk to and has agreed if I can get at least 5 people interested and paid then he will buy a dsm 7 bolt bracked and do the changes to suit our car and fit perfectly, also the addition of Titanium bolts is also an optional extra and so is anodizing,

I have his paypal email address and those interested are to message me for his details and you will pay him directly (NOT TO ME!!!)

once all 5 are paid for as the minimum then time frame would be estimated around 4-6 weeks completion from getting the OEM bracket and making the changes to shipment.

the price for these is $389 plus PP fee's and thats shipped! we need 5 confirmed and paid to make this go ahead

extras are, TI hardware - $150
anodising is case by case and can message him directly on FB for a precise quote!

some details and pics of the part it self.
bear in mind the evo has some extra material we dont have so our weight will likely be a tad less on both parts but is an idea of weight.

stock evo weight 4.60 LBS
BPR Billet weight 1.79LBS with bolts

Thanks for reading and im just trying to do my bit to bring new products and people to our market if i can.

any questions can either reply here or pm me or can pm Alex on his FB company page

Thanks Bobby

Side note, im also not making anything from this so its all free from me.

I think an option that would sell would be one that has been modifed to clear the 6 bolt water pump for the MANY 2g guys that have 6 bolt motors. Pobably get way more attention that way. I would probably buy one of the ones that clear the 6 bolt water pumps. Great thinking nontheless.

Do you think there will be issues later on with the tensioner arm post wearing due to it not being a hardened material? Regardless of that, it’s a badass piece!

This might be possible later on down the line, i dont see why once we start getting stuff made then changes could be done for different setups

Thinking from a materials side of things no i dont. The head is alloy and not hardened yet still does aload of stress and work. Its a short stubby post so i dont see it being an issue myself, heck i have had aluminum suspension parts and made parts in alloy and thats in alot more stressful area,

Maybe send him a pm on fb and ask to confirm

If he offers the one to clear the 6 bolt water pump I'd be in for one
So whats the main thing that needs to be modified for this, just ao im clear as ive only ever ooked at 6 bolts a few times, and is it a 7bolt mount you still use or a 6 bolt mount?

7 bolt mount is still used, just the top left bolt hole is cut into/out to clear the water pump. A little hard to see in the pic, idk if you can zoom in enough to see.

Its a little hard to tell, do you think you could see about whipping up a drawing or something. Then i can perhaps get him to make it onnthe list or maybe see if 1 will then do both versions,.

I in the mean time sill start searching to see what details i can fine pic related on this aswel

finally got around to sorting this out,

Alex is willing to do a 6/7bolt version for those wanting to clear a 6bolt waterpump on a 7 bolt bracket, what he will do is grab a 6 bolt bracket and 7 bolt can do a cross over to clear what needs to clear.

this will be done after he has 5 confirmed, so he is willing to work with us to get this done and help the community out.

if your interested in this get in touch with me or him and get this started,

Thanks

I think your playing with fire using aluminum here. Having the timing tensioner nub cantilevered out there is pretty high stress. Fatigue life would worry me about it failing. The tough spot here is not knowing anything about the loads on it, or having any way to calculate them. What alloy and heat treatment are you planning on using.

Its really a lever and its not taking alot of force or such, the section is short and stout so strength is retained more then if it was longer,

The material he said was 6061, the arm that you are worried about is thick and also the base is wide and spread the load, ive seen alot worse on things like hubs and suspension arms where its more critical, (yes i analysed this LOL) i looked at the item before i even contacted him as i too wanna think the item will work,

He has plenty of guys using them on evos currently
